Darts was the name of the game this morning with many residents competing for their highest score 🎯🏆
Such a great game for hand eye coordination, physical movement and mental arithmetic. Roger was certainly the quickest with tallying the scores!
Maureen S, Claire, John, Sheila, Janice and Margaret all won a sweet treat for their winning scores! 🎯🏆🍫🥰

We all had fun in our music and movement session together today. Residents certainly felt like they had moved their bodies by the end and got their circulation going. This was helped with the likes of the fantastic Proclainers song "I would walk 500 miles"

Today we welcomed the gorgeous Millie 🐾 the therapy dog and the lovely Claire to Oakwood Court.

Claire and Millie have been coming to see our resident's for 7 year's.

Their visits have had a huge impact on our resident's through therapy with animal's. Resident's often get comfort from seeing animal's especially Millie. It often provokes memories of the pet's they once had as a child or have had in there previous homes.

Thank you to Claire and Millie for coming to us for the past 7 year's we have really enjoyed your visits. Unfortunately Millie is going into retirement now and having a well deserved rest.

We wish you well for the future 🥰🐾

Douglas and Bridget celebrated their anniverssary today. Douglas was very romantic and gave Bridget a stunning bouquet of flowers. With a background of the classic track 'summertime' which holds great memories for them they enjoyed some special time together over a glass of bubbly.

Residents were open to something different today with their nail care. We had beach colours and nail decorations to create a summer vibe. The seaside was definitely in the air.

Sarah Borg brought her wonderful talents to Oakwood Court this aftermoon. Residents thoroughly enjoyed her performance which included fabulous musical numbers from shows and filns including Oliver, Titanic , The Entertainer and River Dance.

What a treat. Residents were so enthralled they told Sarah at the end.🎵🎶🎻

🌞 Another week at Oakwood Court! 🌞

August is speeding past but we have another wonderful week lined up here at Oakwood Court. We're starting the morning off warming up our vocal cords and having a good sing song! 🎤
Armchair Travel is back on the agenda this week, we're jetting off to Wales! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
There's lots of movement and fun this week and we can't wait. 🫶

We hope everyone else's week is as good as ours! 😎

After another warm day 🥵 we had a chilled game of Bingo in the morning. Looking for a full line to start with then a full house.

We had afew winners and they received a chocolate treat 🍫🍬.

In the afternoon we had a 1950s quiz of true or false, guess the right answer,guess the ending of the famous saying. Then we played guess the vintage advert.

Activities and games of these sort always provoke memories for our residents from times gone by, which is always so nice to hear. The smiles that memories bring to faces is always a lovely sight to see 🥰
