hoagies reloaded

Well it's been a long while and it's strange to see after almost 3 years Hoagies is still getting likes. Although I hated it at the time closing the cafe was probably the best thing I did because with all the rubbish that's going on now with coronavirus we most certainly would not have got past this and I would be a screaming dribbling wreck sat in the corner of a padded cell, so rather than that I saved my sanity and closed. Now we have to get past this threat to our freedom, and should I say it our sanity, sorry for all the businesses out there who are suffering but we would be suffering more had we not had lockdown. Stay home and stay safe my friends till the next time

Hi Everyone
I find it hard to believe that a full year has gone by since we left the cafe, so fast has it gone that I feel guilty for not posting now and then to keep the memory going but hey that’s life and mine is full and busy these days, not in the same line as I was hoping for but on a completely different path. It would have nice to have been able to retire but my outgoings say “nooooooo not on your Nellie pal “. So here I am finding myself working as a drivers mate (or Porter as we are known) for the John Lewis Partnership delivering all manner of white goods, lounge, bedroom and garden furniture. It’s very hard work but I’m loving it, working in a very different atmosphere with a great bunch of guys and girls who have it seems taken me to their bosom and made me feel very wanted and needed.
I do miss Hoagies very much, I miss the customers and the daily banter the giggles and the laughter and sometimes the tears (thankfully not very often) but I don’t miss the stress and the worry which was making me ill. I think it would have done for me in the end so getting out while I did was a good move on my part.
The old place has been through a major refit over the past year and the new owner has done a fantastic job in renovating what was a spiraling disaster area, one that I certainly was not able to stop another reason for quitting the place. I really, from the bottom of my heart, hope that it works for him and I wish the new venture which I believe is going to be called https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=downtown%20american%20diner

Hello every one, It's been a while. I am writing this to say thank you to the friends and friends of friends who are even now liking our hoagies page. its nice to know it still holds some attention even if it is nostalgia. this post was prompted by a new like, Megan Apps. thank you Megan its a shame you never got to come in and sample the nice, relaxed, scruffy ambiance of our lovely old fashioned cafe ...or maybe you did but thank you

To all my Hoagie family it's going to be strange this year not personally wishing you all a merry Christmas and offering you a celebration chocolate as you are on your way it that doesn't mean you're not far from my thoughts. With that said I'd like to wish all my friends a very merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New year ..... sweet anyone?

Into the Last week my friends and I have lots of things for sale or to give away as I have to empty the cafe out when i close and it would be nice to know the majority of it has been divied up before hand. I don't want to dump anything if its not utterly necessary. I shall be posting some pictures to see if anyone out there want things

As many of you know I will be closing down on the 26th may. The premises is not going to be used as a cafe. Therefore I have to dispose of all the equipment (fridges, freezers, microwave, tables, chairs, cups, mugs plates, cutlery, gas oven etc etc ) so if any one is interested in purchasing any bits and pieces please message me on here

Well peoples of the world its been a week now since my post about the cafe closure and i must say i am overwhelmed with the messages of thanks and love. I will i hope get round to thanking each of you in time but as you can imagine time is what I'm short of at the moment. Sorting things out etc etc and unfortunately i am only retiring as a "Boss" and not as a working man (i hope) if you are passing by and have memories of the cafe we have a scribble book for your memories as a momento book for me and my staff thank you once again for all your kind wishes we couldn't have done it without you ###x
