So our side of things are done. I have collected donations from all of the participating venues for Macmillan Cancer Support and I am thrilled to say with the generosity of each benefactor that we are way up on the donations from last year and very close to the overall total raised last year, so the event is trending in a great direction.

Which brings me to this: the prime directive of this event is to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan. Most of the teams from last year did an amazing job of this, but there were a couple of teams that handed in pots with £1.30 in them. Come on now, ask your friends and family to donate before the event if you’re scared to shake that tin lol.

Just getting the word out to let you know it's our Hastings Old Town Carnival event soon. The Old Town Treasure Trail will be taking place on Monday August 3rd. The registration will be at the usual place on Winkle Island at 6:30 PM. It will be £2 per member of your team. All the proceeds raised from this event will be going directly to Macmillan Cancer Support. Speaking of which, if you would like to donate anything you can do so online here…

Alternatively, I’ll be taking donations inside the pub also.

If you are not familiar with the Treasure Trail, it is a fancy dress event where the teams are given a list of cryptic questions and the answers are in each of the pubs. Once a team has all the answers they will race back to the Nelson to determine their position in the competition. Each team will then win a bottled prize to share, but it's on a first back first choice basis. During the trail you will be given a charity pot to ask for donations from the public. Feel free to raise money beforehand and put it in your pot too, as obviously after lockdown it seems less people carry cash nowadays.

I know it's a Monday, but you can manage your hangover knowing you did it for charity lol.
