We don't normally respond publicly to individual reviews, we feel it's important to provide some context.
The photos attached to this post are our own photograph of the customer's food, taken during the visit after the concerns were raised. We are sharing them simply so people can see exactly what was served and make up their own minds.
Our chips are homemade from fresh potatoes and are intentionally different from frozen, factory-produced chips. Because of the variety of potato we use and the way they're prepared, they have a softer texture rather than a crispy one. They are fully cooked, but frying them for longer doesn't make them crisp it only makes them darker.
When the customer told us the chips were "raw", we apologised that they weren't to their liking and immediately cooked a fresh replacement portion free of charge. The replacement was prepared in exactly the same way, but the customer still believed they were undercooked.
One of our team members then came over to inspect the replacement personally. He confirmed that the chips were cooked to our standard and took the time to explain how our homemade chips are prepared. The conversation was never intended to be argumentative we simply wanted to explain our cooking process and understand the customer's concerns.
We completely accept that homemade chips aren't everyone's preference, and that's absolutely fine. Everyone has different tastes. However, we do feel it's important to respond when a public review suggests that we served raw food, as that simply isn't the case.
We stand by the quality of our food, and we're proud of the way our team handled the situation with professionalism, courtesy, and an honest explanation.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support our business. We appreciate every customer and every piece of feedback, and we'll continue doing our best to serve fresh, homemade food every day.
