Yesterday we celebrated what would have been the big 70 for this guy. 🎂
For those of you that don’t know him, this is Tim Cook.
He was an artist, a teacher, a dad and many more things to many more people.
We lost him in early 2021 and decided to open a bar shortly after (it seemed fitting as he was a strong advocate for supporting local hospitality ventures 👀 🍻 😂)
He was a big fan of Tom Waits, and though the bar was initially called TheBank, we took inspo from albums like Heartattack and Vine when decorating.
Tim also had his very own studio where he used to squirrel away and paint for days (shown in the photo of his namesake grandson) so we thought it’d be a class idea to get some of his artwork up on the walls too.
Our name (Blue Valentines) is an uncompromising homage not only to the album Tim loved, but to Tim’s romantic nature (still hard to listen to Kentucky Avenue without the old lump in the throat!)
So happy Birthday from all of us at BV to Tim (or dad to some of us, or uncle or brother - bit of nepotism never hurt anyone 😘 )
We serve cocktails. We serve food. And we serve as a generational bridge for this guy’s creativity and BIG love.
