We have sold our first burger at The Claret!! It is a thing of beauty. Haz makes the bread buns on a daily basis. We are delighted- we know a thing or two about the ol' burger having consumed a few in our time. The young lady who had the inaugural one said that it was the best burger she has ever had! Hooray

Well, the Dexter Beef Bourguignon has been such a hit that we have completely run out of Beef Stock for tonight's service. We are having to borrow some from the only place we know that also follows the proper, time-consuming stockmaking method that we use... The Malt Shovel! Thanks Jurg.

Welcome to the first post on The Claret wall. We have now been up and running for 2 months and we are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Head Chef Jonathan Elvin (formerly of Glencot House and The Star at Harome). Next week we are launching our new menu that we are all extremely excited about. The Wine Bar is being transformed this weekend so these are busy times indeed!
