It is run by husband and wife team Sara and Stefano Lancellotti. The restaurant is named after the home town of head chef Stefano Lancellotti. Sasso Marconi is a small town just outside Bologna in Emilia Romagna and only an hour's drive from Florence. Sasso is a restaurant aimed at providing authentic Italian cuisine and has a strong Bolognese influence in its cooking. Bologna is the central city
