At Artizan Café, we see first-hand the difference that learning new skills can make.

Every week, our training café supports over 30 young adults with learning disabilities to gain real-life experience in hospitality. From preparing food and baking to making coffees, serving customers and working as part of a busy team, every task helps build confidence, independence and valuable workplace skills.

World Youth Skills Day is a reminder that everyone deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and reach their potential.

We're incredibly proud of everything our trainees achieve and grateful to everyone who supports our café, helping to make these opportunities possible 💜

This week is Learning Disability Awareness Week 💜

At Artizan Café, we’re proud to provide a welcoming training environment where young adults with learning disabilities can develop practical skills, build confidence and gain valuable experience for the future.

From preparing food and serving customers to barista training, baking and working as part of a busy team, our members are involved in every aspect of café life. Along the way they’re developing independence, resilience, communication skills and confidence that extends far beyond the café doors.

We’re incredibly proud of everything our members achieve and grateful to our staff, volunteers and customers who help make these opportunities possible.

Learning Disability Awareness Week is a chance to celebrate what people can achieve when they’re given the opportunity, support and belief to succeed 💜

A little behind-the-scenes moment from the kitchen 💜

Dominic has been having a go at preparing and baking our homemade sausage rolls - carefully getting them ready before they went into the oven, and then seeing them come out golden brown and delicious.

It’s moments like these that make our training café so special. Learning new skills, building confidence and taking real pride in a job well done.
