I am sure all members are shocked by the unfolding situation in Ukraine. Like me you may be struggling to understand how we can help.
The 50,000 Ukrainian refugees who pass through the Polish border each day are provided with shelter, warmth, broths and soups. However, while they are keeping small children alive they can’t keep them happy. The mayor of the Przemysl was asked what else the world could do to improve the small city’s humanitarian welcome. “What they need is chocolate and sweeties, it’s the only thing at the moment which will make the children smile” replied Wojciech Bakun.
So we are organising a Chocolate and Sweeties drop. Please drop off as much chocolate or sweets as you can to reception, the staff will box it. The intention is to send it out to Poland on Saturday.
(Please don’t include Easter eggs as these contain a lot of air and are difficult to package).
