📰 SMOKE TRUCK NEWS: Edition 4 📰 (I think)
I’m going to entitle this one: “When It Rains, It Pours ☔️ and then something about Rainbows 🌈 etc etc”

A LONG ONE - sorry 😬🛋️
For us, last week it rained ☔️ : Andrew was unwell, which meant that we had to cancel two of our pitches The Birdbrook Plough and Angel Inn - Bradford Street. When we took this over, we made a pact with ourselves that we would never cancel unless we absolutely had to, so we were absolutely gutted.

BUT, on Saturday normal service appeared to have resumed and we were able to cater for a fantastic event at Raw Steel Choppers in Lindsell, Great Dunmow - absolutely brilliant ☀️🏍️

Fast forward to this week and it has poured 🌧️: we have had to cancel our next two pitches: The Welsh Princess and The Lion in Stoke by Clare 😩 😭

The Reason: Last April, I had a car accident, which has resulted in my right wrist and forearm being made of more metal than I care to think of (I know - 😢 🎻) but the upshot is that I suffer terribly with tendinitis in it. Long story short (it’s still a long story) the hospital rang me on Monday evening to say they had a cancellation for tomorrow (Wednesday) for me to have the operation to remove the plate which is causing all the agg. Given the situation, I can’t refuse - so I’m going in. (For me, I guess that’s the little rainbow in this story).

There will be a bit of recovery going on so, needless to say, we won’t be back out until the Bank Holiday Weekend at the end of May for the jousting events at hedinghamcastle 🏰, and we will be back at our usual pitches after that.

For those of you that have made it to the end of this post - I applaude you! I’ve added in a couple of pictures of my X-rays so you can see what I’m wanging on about - it’s the pesky little guy at the side that I’m waving goodbye to tomorrow. 👋🏼

Apologies again to those that we have had to let down - we are really grateful for your understanding.

And thank you, as ever, to anyone reading this for your continued support.

📰 SMOKE TRUCK NEWS: Edition 3 📰

It’s funny the things you get excited about but we’re excited to let you know that we are UPGRADING OUR SAUCES. 🍅

As from Friday this week we are proud to be using Stokes sauces in our Just Cheese burger and in the pots for you to dunk your fries in! (The ST sauce remains the same - no improvements necessary there) 😁

‼️ NOTICE: Technical issues with the grill has meant that we have unfortunately had to close the pitch this evening 😩😔 We are so sorry, but there is nothing that we can do - the grill isn’t getting hot enough, which will compromise the crisp of your burgers! AND WE CAN’T HAVE THAT!

The GOOD NEWS is that the engineer can come out on Tuesday so fingers crossed it’s a quick fix 🤞🏼
