🍺 A NEW CHAPTER FOR THE LAMARSH LION 🦁

Hello everyone! 👋

We wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves. We’re Matt and Charlie, and along with the family, we’re incredibly excited to be the new tenants of The Lamarsh Lion.

We’re looking forward to becoming part of the Lamarsh community and putting our own stamp on this wonderful village pub.

The pub will be closed for a week from Monday 28th September for a little bit of TLC, some preparation, and for us to find our feet before welcoming you through the doors.

📅 OUR PLANNED OPENING DATES

🍻 From Tuesday 6th October – Drinks & bar open from 5pm

🎶 Friday 9th October – Live music with the amazing Ella Hayes from 8pm

🍽️ Saturday 10th October – Food service begins from midday

Our aim is simple: to create a truly traditional British country pub where everyone is welcome.

Expect a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with plenty of the things that make a great country pub:

🥧 A menu with a real focus on traditional pies, alongside freshly prepared starters, main courses and desserts

🍖 Traditional Sunday roasts every week

🍺 Well-kept real ales, beers and ciders

🍷 A selection of wines

☕ Great coffee

🎱 A pool table

🛝 Kids play area

🌳 And, of course, those stunning views across the valley

🕐 OUR PLANNED OPENING HOURS

Pub Open:
Monday: 4pm–8pm
Tuesday to Saturday: 12pm–10pm
Sunday: 12pm–8pm

Food Served:
Tuesday: 12pm–2pm
Wednesday to Saturday: 12pm–2pm & 5.30pm–8pm
Sunday: 12pm–5.30pm

These are our planned opening hours as we get started, and we’ll keep you updated as we settle in.

We want The Lamarsh Lion to be somewhere you can pop in for a pint, enjoy a meal with the family, meet friends, listen to live music, play a game of pool, settle in for a Sunday roast, or simply enjoy a drink while taking in the view.

Most importantly, everyone is welcome — families, locals, walkers, regulars and visitors alike!

We’re really excited about what’s ahead and can't wait to meet you all.

Another one of those horrible social media posts... It is with huge despair and disappointment that unfortunately, we are going to have to close The Stable. We have tried, tried and tried again but continue to face a barrage of economic influences, partly Government, partly worldwide affairs, that continue to make the hospitality and especially restaurant trade somewhat challenging. Combined with personal challenges has unfortunately forced us in to making this very hard decision.

I cannot share in words just how grateful and appreciative I am of all my hard working staff, friends and family that have helped make the restaurant what it is today. We have enjoyed some amazing experiences over the years that will never be forgotten!

For now we will continue on our individual journeys; but who knows what the future holds...

💡But wait, we may have a little idea!! Please continue to follow us and watch this space as we may have a plan for our beautiful converted stable that you may like and may also allow us to continue serving our amazing guests, just in a different way...

In the meantime, if anyone fancies a possible challenge, The Stable may potentially be available for it's next careful owner. Whether it stays as a restaurant, changes to a cafe, dog groomers, pet shop, beauticians, spa, farm shop, wine bar, who knows, the choices are endless! Here is a once in a lifetime opportunity to take over this absolutely stunning converted stable. Currently fully fitted and kitted for catering, ready to go and looking forward to many more years of making memories. FULL TIME OR WEEKEND CHEF REQUIRED
The Stable is looking for a hard working, self motivated and competent chef to join the kitchen team. There is the possibility of 2 jobs. Either full time working a variety of shifts including day times, evenings and weekends. Approximately 35-40 hours a week. Alternatively a weekend chef working a split shift Saturday and a Sunday lunch (potentially a Friday evening too). Paid weekly. Very good tips. Must be able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team. A great team of people to work with!
