🥧 AUGUST PIE NIGHT CANCELLED 🥧

Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of our control, we have had to cancel this week’s Pie Night, Thursday 13th August.

I have managed to contact everyone who had a table booked, apart from one booking under the name “Alderson” at 6pm.

If this is your booking, please could you get in touch with the café as soon as possible. 🙏

We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and really appreciate your understanding. 💛

Our next Pie Night will be Thursday 10th September - we hope to see you then! 🥧

🧺The Great Luddenden Picnic is almost here... and it's looking like we're in for another scorcher!☀️

The forecast is currently 27°C and sunshine all day – just like last year!😎

Here are a few top tips to help you stay cool while enjoying the fun:
🧢Bring a hat – shade is your best friend!
💧Stay hydrated – The Lord Nelson will be open early, and St Mary's will be serving tea, coffee and cold drinks throughout the day.
🧴Don't forget your suncream – and remember to top it up during the day.
🌳Take a break in the shade – we've got plenty of trees to relax under between activities.

Pack your picnic, bring your blankets and camping chairs, and get ready for a fantastic day.

📣 JOB VACANCY - CAFE COOK 📣

The Secret Cafe is looking for a new member of staff to join our family-run café in Luddendenfoot ☕🍳

We’re looking for a hardworking and reliable café cook to join our small team. This is a busy role, so you’ll need to work well under pressure, stay organised, and enjoy being part of a team.

Responsibilities include:
☕️Preparing and serving food
☕️Taking customer orders
☕️Maintaining high cleanliness standards
☕️Supporting the smooth running of the kitchen during busy periods

Formal food preparation training isn’t essential, but experience working in a commercial kitchen environment (such as a café or pub kitchen) is preferred.

A basic food hygiene certificate would be desirable, although full training can be provided.

🕒 Hours:
Wednesday: 9.00am – 3.30pm
Thursday: 8.00am – 3.30pm
Friday: 8.00am – 3.30pm
Saturday: 7.00am – 3.30pm
Sunday: 9.00am – 3.30pm

✨You will have TWO weekends off each month (the second & last weekends)- a really good deal in hospitality✨

☕️Pay: £12.75 per hour
☕️Start Date: Early June
