The Sushi Experience with Antonio De Gracia is now available for small group bookings, work teams, family days, hen dos, birthday groups. You name it, we’ll roll with you.

Here’s what happens. You arrive to a Japanese cocktail or cold Asahi. Antonio takes over. You learn to prepare sushi rice, handle sushi-grade fish, and roll maki and nigiri by hand, guided every step by a chef with 37 years of expertise. You’ll also learn his signature sashimi cut, found nowhere else in the West Midlands.

Then you sit down and eat everything you’ve made.

Two hours. Great company. Skills you’ll actually use again.

Saturday morning, explore the High Street, grab a coffee, browse the independents that make this village what it is.

Saturday evening, head upstairs at West One and let Chef Antonio do the rest. Sushi rolled by hand, bold Pan Asian flavours, cocktails worth lingering over.

Sunday, Family Feast at East. Sharing plates, handcrafted sushi, the Dragon Skewer Selection, kids eat for £15. Done by 4pm and everyone’s happy.

Obon is a time for lanterns, gathering, and feasting. A moment in the Japanese calendar where food isn’t just food, it’s how you bring people together.

This week, Chef Antonio’s kitchen is celebrating exactly that.

Yakitori Nagima with sweet soy. Scottish salmon with seaweed teriyaki butter. Sirloin steak marinated in Korean BBQ and yuzu, finished in black garlic. Vegetables in green Thai curry with Japanese yaki soba sauce.

Every August in Japan, the streets fill with lanterns. 🏮

Obon is one of Japan’s most important celebrations, time to gather, honour those who came before, and share a proper feast with the people around you. It’s been part of Japanese culture for centuries.

This August, East at West One is marking Obon with a special festival menu, available 13th to 16th August

Yakitori Nagima, skewered chicken with sweet soy.
Scottish salmon two ways.
