What a difference a year makes!
So proud to have witnessed last nights first league match of the season against Jeanfield Swifts Ladies.
Firstly let’s start by saying last Year we lost 2-6
Last night we were 0-2 down in the first 5 minutes. And I’m gonna be honest I thought, we’re gonna need a bigger score board. Boy was I wrong. In truth it was a comeback akin to 2005 Istanbul when Liverpool trailed AC Milan 0-3 at half time.
The fighting spirit and determination from our women was nothing short of brilliant.
At half time we were the better team and could have been 3 or 4 up. JFS are a very good and organised side who are dangerous in attack. But with a player of the match performance from the home keeper and a never give up attitude throughout the team, we picked up our first points of the season. What a start!
The game ended 3-3 but easily could have been a cricket score for both teams, because JFS had many chances thwarted by great defensive play and even better goalkeeping.
New coach Andrew has really made an impact and it shows.
