**Unhappy Customer Alert**

This is a quick one but really feel I needed to make this point.

Scenario:
If you were in a bar and got a double vodka and coke then decided you wanted an extra shot of vodka... would you expect the extra shot for free?? 🤔

I certainly wouldn't.

All our coffees are served as double shots so why would you expect not to have to pay £1 for an additional extra shot of coffee?

That's exactly what a customer expected today in the coffee shop.

Trust me this business is a labour of love as a pose to any profit making whatsoever so rudeness from a customer is not acceptable.

I don't have a money tree and everything in the shop I have to pay for. I don't get it for free!

Sorry for a negative post first thing but just in case this particular customer sees this please bear in mind.

To all our wonderful, respectful customers, thank you again for your support we really do appreciate it and always enjoy catching up with you all.

Have a great weekend one and all 🐾 ❤️

****Chaloner St Coffee House is no longer****

The journey is continuing but I have rebranded and am finally taking the road I want to take.

Thank you to all customers, past and present ❤️. Some have moved on but we appreciate the support given in the first few years of being Chaloner St Coffee House.

Taking on an independent business has been a huge learning experience for me. Having had no previous experience in running a business it has taken a lot out of me both mentally and physically.

I expected the usual challenges when buying a business.....what I didn't expect was the dishonesty from the previous owner of Taste who I bought the business from. It made the start incredibly difficult and I had to make quick decsions.

We are moving past the drama finally and focusing on what matters: great coffee and a welcoming space for all of you, including 🐾 .

With the best will in the world, pleasing everyone was an unrealistic expectation to put on myself. It is impossible to cater for every single person and what seems like a small thing to a customer i.e free biscuit with their coffee, carnation cream with their coffee, vegan, gluten free, dairy free...the list is endless, all extra costs which we cannot keep absorbing.

So, yes it is exhausting, but the loyal customers who come back 2, 3 times a week (you know who you are!...) it truly makes it worthwhile ❤️. We see how much the visit to the coffee house means to you (and your 🐾 family) and we love catching up with you all.

Existing loyalty card holders will be honoured and carried over to our new loyalty cards.

We are confident that our coffee house will continue to create a wonderful community space and with ongoing support from our regulars and some newbies we hope to thrive.

🐕‍🦺 Nervous Dogs Social Session 🦮
📅 Saturday 7th February
⏰ 12:00pm

We’re excited to be running a small, supportive social session designed especially for anxious or nervous dogs 🤍

🙋‍♀️ Why we’re doing this
So many of you have spoken to us about dogs who want to socialise but find large, busy groups overwhelming. Throwing nervous dogs straight into a big pack can do more harm than good — and we don’t want that.
While we’re not qualified dog trainers, we are great listeners. This session is about creating a calm, controlled space where dogs can build confidence at their own pace. We’ll guide the session, but it will very much be led by you and your dog’s comfort levels.

🦮 How the session will run
• Maximum of 6 dogs to keep things calm and manageable
• First 15 minutes: All dogs stay on lead, walking the field with their owners while keeping a comfortable distance from other dogs
• Next 15 minutes: If dogs are relaxed, they can do gentle nose-to-nose greetings on lead (only if both dogs choose to)
• Final stage: If everyone — dogs and humans — is happy and relaxed, dogs can come off lead to greet and play freely with others like them (after they’ve realised they’re safe, of course!)
• To confirm, any aggressive dogs will not be permitted. Anxious dogs are often “reactive” but if this includes becoming a danger, this class isn’t for them

🌳 Why our space works so well
Our field is fully enclosed, so if your dog’s instinct is to flee when anxious, you can relax knowing they’re safe and secure if you reach the off-lead stage.

🐾 What if my dog isn’t ready?
That’s completely okay. Progress isn’t linear, and not everything works first time.
If at any point you don’t feel comfortable letting your dog off lead, you can leave the group session before that stage and enjoy one of our fields privately at the end instead.

💷 Cost & booking info
• £6 per dog
• One handler per dog required
• Maximum of 2 people per dog

Mind Time to Talk day is tomorrow, Thursday 05/02/26.

Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest mental health conversation. It’s a day for all of us to come together to talk, listen and change lives. Opening up about our mental health can be the first step towards getting help.

There are lots of ways to get involved this time to talk day and Mind website has some brilliant resources with ideas for some of the small things we could all do to help each other in todays world.

Simply checking in with a friend or family member is just one of them.

Brave the big talk this .
