Every cup starts with someone. ☕🌱

This International Coffee Day, we’re celebrating the farmers whose skill, care and hard work make the coffee we love possible.

Pictured is a coffee farmer in Uganda, shared with us by our supplier Omwani. It’s a reminder that behind every bag of beans are people, livelihoods and a story worth knowing.

For us, celebrating coffee also means recognising the people who grow it, and the importance of fair pay and lasting relationships with farming communities.

So today, raise your cup to the people at the very beginning of its journey. 🧡

Our Coffee of the Month: Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Koke

Grown at 1,870–1,900 metres in the lush Gedeo highlands of southern Ethiopia, this coffee begins on small family farms surrounded by layers of shade trees, banana plants and enset.

Once picked, the ripe cherries are delivered to the Koke station and naturally processed, dried with the fruit still surrounding the coffee seed before being carefully turned and hand-sorted.

Back in Surrey, we roast Koke medium-dark to reveal notes of blackcurrant, black tea and brown sugar.
