The Old Penny now offers 'Midweek treat Wednesday', where we offer coffee and cake for only £5. (Or any other non alcoholic drink)

Due to popular request, we have changed our monthly quiz night.
They will now be held on the first Friday of every month... starting from 7th August.
Entry is £10 which includes a choice of 3 meals.
August menu is
Lasagne with chips/salad (or half and half) and garlic bread.
Burger with chips/salad (or half and half)
Quiche with salad/chips (or half and half)
All are home made using Swales meat.
Vegetarian quiche is also an option.
£5 deposit on booking when choosing your food options.
The quiz starts at 7pm, food is served after the first round, and the prizes this time are a choice of 8 bottles of Peroni, Large bottle of prosecco or a tub of quality street and box of chocolate biscuits.
There's also a small prize for the funniest wrong answer.
We aim for fun not competition... so if you don't know your longest river from your highest mountain...this is the quiz for you!!

Murder Mystery

We recently attended

a private all girls murder mystery event at the Old Penny.

The organisation of the event was fabulous from start to finish and we had an absolute scream. Sheila and Patrick are great hosts and went above and beyond to ensure our evening was perfect.

We chose our theme and, because we were a private party, a bespoke menu, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. It’s an absolute bargain for the price.

We would highly recommend a murder mystery event at the Old Penny, so much so, we intend to repeat the experience.

Go along and support this hard working couple and have yourselves a very different experience, where you are the stars of the show (if you want to be).

We have added Lamb to the menu.
So this week we have Lamb , Beef, chicken and Pork.
Prices are still the same
Small £6, Medium £10 and Large £12.

Good morning all, are you ready for Sunday lunch but don't want to cook in this weather?
Lunch is available at the Old Penny Tearoom. Large is £12 and consists of 3 roast potatoes, 2 scoops of mash, 3 fresh veg, 2 Yorkshire puddings, 2 pigs in blankets, and 2 sausage and stuffing balls. All covered in gravy made with meat juices. We offer a smaller version for £10, and a children's (or smaller appetite) for £6.
The meats on offer this week are, beef, pork, gammon and chicken.
All day breakfast is still available, and the freshly made cakes are waiting for you in our display fridge

OLD PENNY TEAROOM WALTHAM,QUIZ NIGHT CANCELLED

Unfortunately we have had to cancel our quiz night tonight, July 4th.
We have only 2 teams confirmed and we don’t think it’s viable to host the quiz.
As soon as arranged, we will notify everyone of the new date.
We are considering moving the quiz from Saturday nights to Friday nights. We would love to have your feedback on this, and let us know whether Friday’s more convenient.

If you fancy a Sunday lunch this weekend but don't want to stand in a hot kitchen, let us cook it for you. The meat choices this week are chicken, beef, pork and gammon. Please book by Saturday if possible... Like everyone else I need to know how many roasts to get in the oven. Eat in or takeaway. If you need a delivery, give us a call and we will try to help.

Thank you to all who purchased Fathers Day raffle tickets.
The winning ticket was 196 and has been claimed. Trish was thrilled, and her husband Mike was looking forward to sinking his teeth into his favourite rum truffle house special!
Also, a big thanks to all who attended the 'taster session' last Saturday. The votes to stay as a permanent on our menu... were eclairs, rum truffle houses, millionaire shortbread, tiffin, rocky road, cream slice, and 3 of the fudges:
