With very mixed emotions, and after much careful thought, we want to share that Ildiko’s Chocolate is coming to the end of its current chapter. Our final day of trading will be Sunday, 6 September.
Over 14 years of running Ildiko’s Chocolate, including the past 9 wonderful years in Bookham, our shop has become so much more than a business to us. It has been an integral part of our lives, filled with memories, friendships and countless moments we will always treasure.
From beginnings in 2012 at a kitchen table with only a few silicone moulds, we could never have imagined the journey ahead. We have been incredibly fortunate to grow alongside the Bookham community and to be welcomed into so many of your lives.
Over the years, we have celebrated with you - birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, new beginnings and all the special occasions in between. We have also shared quieter, more difficult moments and tears. You have supported us not simply as customers, but as friends, and we hope that in some small way we have been there for you too.
We feel immensely lucky for the kindness, encouragement, loyalty and friendship you have shown us throughout this journey. We are deeply grateful to every customer, friend, supplier and local business who has supported Ildiko’s Chocolate and helped make it what it has become.
Although this chapter is drawing to a close, Bookham and the people we have met here will always hold a very special place in our hearts.
Please do come in during our final weeks to say hello. It would mean so much to have the opportunity to thank you personally.
