Ready for a proper day on the fells? Take on the Fairfield Horseshoe.

Some walks take you to a viewpoint. The Fairfield Horseshoe takes you on an adventure.

Starting from The Grand at Grasmere, this spectacular full-day route climbs through the fells before joining the classic horseshoe, taking in eight Wainwright summits and reaching 873m at Fairfield.

Over approximately 17km and 5–7 hours, you'll experience sweeping views across Grasmere, Rydal Water and the wider Lake District, with high-level ridges, challenging climbs and plenty of reasons to stop and take it all in.

It's a strenuous walk for experienced fell walkers — but the sense of achievement at the end makes every step worthwhile.
