We are always grateful for every review we get but every so often we are blown away by someone being so thoughtful, someone who would go into so much detail and recognise the efforts of a small team and 2 very proud owners!

⭐ THE RETURN TO THE TAY – NOW WITH SUNSHINE, BIRDS, AND ZERO INTENTION OF LEAVING ⭐
Title: “Same Place. Completely Different Universe. Still Ruins Everywhere Else.”
We came back.
Because after our first visit, not coming back would’ve been medically irresponsible.
Last time?
Roaring fires. Frost outside. Full winter cocoon mode.
You didn’t visit The Inn on the Tay — you survived the cold in it like kings.
This time?
☀️ Spring has entered the chat… and it’s showing off.
⸻
🌊 The Setting (Now in HD)
We’re sat out on the decking…
River Tay rolling past like it’s got nowhere to be…
That constant white noise — the kind that resets your brain without asking permission.
Birds flying up and down the river like they’ve got shifts to cover.
The odd flick of fish breaking the surface like:
“Aye… this is our river, by the way.”
Kayaks drifting past.
Canoes gliding like they’re in a tourism advert that actually lives up to the hype.
It’s not relaxing.
It’s dangerously relaxing.
The kind where you forget emails exist.
⸻
🍺 The Pints (St Mungo’s doing God’s work)
Cold. Crisp. Absolutely dialled in.
The type of pint where you take the first sip, pause… look out at the river… and just nod to yourself like:
“Aye. This is it. This is the one.”
⸻
🍽️ The Food (Still playing in a different league)
You’d think maybe — maybe — the setting is doing some heavy lifting this time.
Nope.
Food comes out and immediately reminds you:
This place doesn’t rely on views. The views are just a bonus.
Every plate is still operating at that dangerous level of:
“We could just stay here forever and deal with the consequences later.”
⸻
👌 The Staff (Effortlessly spot on… again)
Same story.
No fuss. No forced smiles. No hovering.
Just absolute pros who somehow manage to be everywhere you need them… and nowhere you don’t.
⸻
🛏️ The Rooms (Still elite)
Immaculate. Comfortable. Quiet.
The kind of sleep where you wake up, hear the river, and briefly consider cancelling real life.
⸻
⚖️ Final Verdict – Winter vs Spring?
Here’s the problem…
Winter visit:
🔥 Cosy. Intimate. Fire-lit magic.
Spring visit:
☀️ Open. Alive. River, wildlife, fresh air — full sensory overload in the best way possible.
Same place. Two completely different experiences. Both absolutely ridiculous.
⸻
Final Final Verdict:
We didn’t just come back.
We’ve now got a problem…
Because every other place we go to is going to have to live in the shadow of this.
Again.
Still 11/10. Possibly illegal how good it is.
