Good morning everyone I'm sorry if this causes any disappointment but im going to have to close a little early today at 4pm as we have to take Ralph back to the vets.
It's going to be a warm one today but we have you covered with refreshing cold drinks, salads, cold desserts and lots and lots of delicious icecream to keep you all cool 🧋🍰🥤🍦

Who is going to try a slice of cheesecake this week? 😋
Big thanks to Taya and Libby for making these delicious looking cheesecakes Taya made a chocolate orange one and Libby made a biscoff one I don't know how I could choose between them they look amazing !!!
Carrot cake is back this week and is always a hit in the tearoom and goes perfectly with a cup of coffee.
We have lots of sweet treats like loaded cookies, rocky road, eccles cakes , scones and of course plenty of icecream again after a big delivery this morning. We have some great gluten free and vegan options too.
We have had some busy busy days this week to start off the Summer holidays and the Ploughman's lunches have been really popular with some great feedback from them.. thankyou 😊

We are forecast a warm dry week and as much as it's great for business and great for the school summer holidays we really could do with some showers I have never known the grass so dry and crunchy!! Infact it's the first time we have taken a dog to the vets with a grass seed and our big pupster Ralph on Friday had to have surgery from one that had embedded between his toes and started to travel. I took him back today for a post op check and to change his dressings and bandage and all looks to be OK and stitches too. There has been quite a few cases of grass seeds so will deffo be extra vigilant with this !!!

Hope your all enjoying the start to the holidays I cant quite believe it's that time of year already for the Summer hols but then today I spotted some conkers growing and thought crickey it will soon be Autumn!!! 🍂

Just a little post about a couple of projects Matthew has been working on for us and we’d really welcome everyone’s support. A quick share to spread awareness or even a simple like on the new page would be hugely appreciated. If you’re a pet owner, this new site will be a fantastic way to compare and contrast veterinary practices across the UK.

With Matthew’s background, he’s been aware for some time that from September all veterinary practices will need to become more transparent about the services and prices they provide, along with whether they are independently owned or part of a larger group.

With this in mind, we’d love to hear from any vets who are customers or connected to us. The new website www.my-vet.co.uk will be launching in September and will provide a brilliant platform for both Pet Owners and Veterinary Practices to register.

Every practice will have access to its own dedicated page where they can list:

✔ Pricing tables & transparency (emergency callout, dental, routine checks)
✔ Whether they are Group Owned or Independent
✔ Emergency callout availability
✔ Callout areas with reduced charges
✔ Specialities & clinical focus
✔ Staff profiles
✔ Jobs board

This platform is being built to support pet owners, help practices meet the new CMA transparency requirements, and strengthen trust across the veterinary community.

Hope you have all kick started your week off in a good way after the weekend and ready to cheer on the boys on Wednesday
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 "Come on England" 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
I've been prepping for a few hours this afternoon to kick start our week off for you all with biscoff cheesecake , lemon and ginger cheesecake pots along with some varieties of lovely gluten free and vegan ones to choose from in the chiller.
Eton mess summer tray cakes and a beautiful lime, raspberry and coconut cake which is a vegan option too 😋
Tina's chocolate concrete is just scrummy and a great favourite British classic !!
Quiches galore are made ham,cheese and tomato, cheese and onion and of course the cheese and chutney one 🧀 🧅🍅
We have had a delivery of Frank's Luxury biscuits which are on display in the shop and you may have a little surprise on your saucer with any hot drink purchased 😉

We have a birthday this week which I can't tell you how much it means to us to be celebrating Jasper's 29th birthday after a scare with his health this year I have never felt so scared of losing him but as you have to keep going strong and deal with things head on whats thrown at you he is doing amazing and with our farrier and vets support, advice and treatment he is recovering well!! Who knows we may get out to some parties for old codgers again (piccy of him winning best veteran) ♥ 💛

The fruit trees are doing surprisingly well in this long hot dry spell and we have cherries a plenty infact it's not just us and the birds that's been enjoying them 🍒🦊

☀ 🥭🍋🍒🍌 Fruity feeling 🍌🍒🍋🧋☀️

Wow what a hot week we had !!!
I just wanted to come on to praise and thank our team for working so well last week through the heat you did amazingly well and a busy warm weekend we had thanks to our lovely customers ❤️💚

All this summer feeling has us getting fruity in the tearoom with a gorgeous mango, passionfruit and toasted meringue cake.
Cheesecakes this week are a beautiful raspberry and white chocolate one and our famous lemon and ginger one too.
We have a vegan and gluten free lemon and summer berry and a gluten free toffee and honeycomb.
Lemon meringue pie served with cream or icecream 🍋 and you wanted it so we have the gluten free caramel and apple pie back this week 🍏 🍎
Plenty of different fruit scones to choose from and Tina's raspberry scones are just to die for !!
We have a millionaire traybake for you chocolate and caramel lovers 🍫
All icecream is restocked and the cold drinks fridge are full again ready for the week ahead. Why not try one of Yorkshire teas two different iced teas lemon or a raspberry and peach so refreshing!!

We are set for a busy evening this week leading hay in when it's baled , it smells so nice while it's drying out in the sun and hopefully we will have plenty for the Winter.

It's heating up already ☀
We have everything you need to keep cool with Yorvale's amazing icecream, iced coffee's, ice lollies and cold drinks from the fridge. And yes the aircon is fully on so please keep the doors closed 😉 😉
If your gluten free we have a banoffee and caramel cake along with toffee and honeycomb cheesecake or a lemon and summer berry one 😋
Biscoff lovers we have Matthews biscoff cheesecake what goes nicely with a scoop of your favourite icecream. Tina has baked a summery white chocolate and strawberry love traybake whick looks delicious!!!
Or why not enjoy Ebonys cheese on toast which was popular last week it just hits the spot!!
We will be keeping the animals as cool as we can again with lots of hosing down of the horses and ponies through the day and their electrolyte sloppy fibre mash to keep them well hydrated , Hamilton and Little Miss have just had their wallow topped right up and their shade sail is providing a nice cool spot. I gave them a nice coconut oil rub down at the weekend to keep their skin moisturised although Hamilton wasn't thrilled Little Miss loves a good pamper the little diva that she is.
I put a frozen water bottle under the guinea pigs hay to keep them cool to lay near with frozen treats and Barbara the Barnevelder hen enjoys some frozen treats too.
The goats Peggy and Patch are true sun worshipers and I'm sure you will see Lady Muck (Peggy) sunbathing on her tyre!!!

We had an outstanding response to the Summer job position and we are working our way to respond to everyone so please bear with us. We have trialled a few people already and have been really pleased to meet you all and someone has really stood out already but we are thinking of giving the opportunity to two people to help us out.

Hi everyone, thank you so much to everyone who has applied for the summer job. We have had an overwhelming response so we are not taking anymore applications for now.

Whats next!!

We will review all the applications and we will be contacting people to trial this week and next, this will be a paid trial so that you get a feel for the job and we can get an idea about you. There will be two places this saturday morning 10am to 12.30, two more places 12.30 to 2.30pm and two more places between 2.30pm and 4.30pm. We will then look to do similar through next week and next weekend.

We will then make a decision. Thanks for all of your interest

Look what we have to tempt you with this week 😋
Taya has made a chocolate orange cheesecake which is setting in the fridge doesn't it look amazing!! I have made a blackcurrant cheesecake to go in the display chiller in the morning along with some gluten free and vegan choices including lemon with summer berries or a slice of Belgian chocolate. We have a chocolate Mars and Twix cake and Tina will be baking up her famous Eccles cakes, savoury pastry wraps and a raspberry love traybake for you all to try.
Let's hope we have some show of sunshine this week so you can sit out having icecreams again and coffee's while you enjoy taking it all in ☀
Thankyou for all your well wishes for Jasp this past week he is doing really well we have his insulin down from 208 to 40 it still needs to get lower but its heading in the right direction and he is feeling better and full of his thuggish ways every day having a bit longer time now turned out in our little arena he is our super🌟💗
