Congratulations to Andy on his 25 years of service 👏👏

On Monday March 16, our crew and management raised a toast to our Coxswain, Andy Mason.

On February 14 2026, Andy completed 25 years volunteering at Great Yarmouth & Gorleston Lifeboat!

Lifeboat Operations Manager, Captain Lindsey Wigmore, presented Andy with a framed portrait to be hung on the station wall alongside previous Coxswains including his father, David Mason.

In his time with us, Andy has qualified in roles such as ILB Helm, Navigator and Mechanic before becoming our Coxswain.

Also joining the celebration was Andy’s wife and their two daughters.

After the toast, everyone enjoyed a fish and chip supper superbly cooked by My Plaice on Baker Street, many thanks to them.

Andy said:
‘Thank you everyone for the surprise this evening. I am very grateful and had no idea. I couldn’t have gotten this far without the support of the crew, management and my family so thank you. Here’s to another 25 years.’
