Wow! Wow! Wow! What an amazing record smashing attendance at Goole parkrun this morning!! 416 participants completed the course which is over 110 more than any previous attendance at Goole.

It was Goole Pride parkrun day and whilst some increased attendance may be due to this, it must be mentioned that the cancellation of our friends at Selby parkrun due to lack of volunteers was also a factor.

We love to have you all with us, please do however support your local hardworking volunteer event team to provide events on a weekly basis. If we all help out and look after each other all events can be provided successfully.

Our Goole parkrun volunteer team responded with everything they could this morning and we are really proud of how the event was handled under the additional pressure. We only have 300 tokens for instance as standard for our usual attendance numbers and our pre planned measures had to be enacted to ensure your all got your time and position allocated as correctly as possible.

We hope you enjoyed the event, spent money in the cafe, parked responsibly and maybe even went on to the Goole pride events in the centre later on.

We have a few local people who have successfully gained places at the London marathon and are fundraising / creating awareness for their causes. We will share these as the weeks go by to allow you all to learn about and support them.

This week we have Alastair Wood with us in the morning, you can find out more about Alastair's story here

Running has given me so much over the years. It has challenged me, helped me through difficult times, introduced me to amazing people, and shown me what can be achieved with determination and support.

Congratulations to our 257 participants who completed Goole parkrun event #476 yesterday.

We welcomed 5 people to their first ever parkrun and had 42 people make their first circuits of west park. We hope to see you in the future at our amazing events.

21 volunteers assisted us with making the event a great success, thank you all! Thank you to Freya on volunteering for the first time. We love to see new volunteers joining our team making this all possible.

It is great to see 41 personal bests on the results this weekend, what a great effort and improvement you are all doing.
