Now in it’s twenty third year.. Café René is very excited to announce this years line up for the honkin stonkin foot stomping Rhythm & Blues Festival 2026!

Once again we’re working around the clock to bring you a full seven days of the biggest, boldest and best in all things Bluesy 🎸

Featuring the signature weekend Green Stage, our famous BBQ and delicious hog roast.. tasty beers, ales, ciders and other drink selections will all be available from one of our bars 🍻

This years festival takes place Monday 27th of July to Sunday 2nd of August with a full week of live music including three days on the famous open-air Green Stage. The outdoor bar will be fully stocked and desperate dan burgers will be sizzling on the BBQ with a corking line up of incredible worldwide Blues & Roots musicians - the soundtrack to your summer! 🌅

Featuring blistering performances from Ben Poole, The Cinelli Brothers, Laurence Jones, Dirty Weather Blues R***e, The Worried Men, The Lewis Creaven Band and soo many more incredible acts!

All of this is situated in the heart of Gloucester, within easy reach of both parking and public transport. The festival will be totally free for all to enjoy – just as it has been for over two decades! 🎶

We will once again be raising money for the James Hopkins Trust, so any generous patrons who wish to contribute will have plenty of opportunity!

Gloucester Vinyl Festival Charity Fundraiser.. wow what a blast! 🍩

We wanted to say a humongous thank you to everyone who came together to make the day a truly memorable and wicked day. John, Darren & Clare who all give their time for free to this event for the love of vinyl & fundraising - they all put so much effort in behind the scenes. All the vinyl DJs who also gave their time and James our photographer 📸 who also donated the majority of his fee towards the charity.. Daniel from Hard Stairs who ran the charity tombola - you guys are all angels on earth. Thank you. A big thank you to everyone who donated.. we raised a whopping £1008.52 for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice including a donation made on behalf of the pub for everyone who gave their time to the event to make it a special day. The open decks were a particular highlight of the day with the slots being taken up within the first half an hour! Until next time vinyl lovers.. ✌️

Now onto Café René Rhythm & Blues Festival 2026… an all star line up this year! We’ve got an absolutely mammoth week in store so make sure to get this one in your diary’s now! This Friday sees the return of the ultimate purveyors of soul & funk.. The Soul Strutters🕺🏽

Soul strutters are a staple of the south west music scene, they are the busiest and most raucous funk/soul/party band in the south west.

If you’re an old friend of Café René you might remember these guys from back in the day - and if you’re a new friend then get to know! You won’t regret coming to this one!!

Today is the day! Work is currently in hand setting up for Gloucester Vinyl Festival Charity Fundraiser🎧

All vinyl DJ sets starting at 2pm. Vinyl Open Deck ran by SGVC running from 2pm - 5/6pm in the Main Bar. Just bring your records along, pop your name down and have a spin. Browse the record stalls - lots on offer out on the green today! BBQ and outdoor bar too. Charity tombola bought to you by the incredibly kind DJ Longsail from Hard Stairs who has sourced some really cool bits!

Basically it’s gonna be a really lovely day celebrating music on wax. We’re family friendly in the daytime too with Good Vibes Face Art popping by with her bag of glitter and goodness ✨

All in aid of Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice - we have set up an online page for anyone who would like to donate there too 🩵
