Last orders at the bar

After lots of thought and consideration we have come to the difficult decision to close the Tigers Eye. After nearly 16 years slinging cocktails and serving up a unique and exotic menu for the Gloucester folk we will be calling last orders this Saturday the 31st.
As you can imagine, this decision has not been easy for us in the slightest. We have tried to continue on for as long as possible with hope in our hearts however, a multitude of factors have now made it increasingly difficult for us to stay afloat.
Being handed the keys in 2008, Nick opened the bar with his best friend and business partner Paul Soden with bright ideas and visions of bringing some luxury to Gloucesters city streets. Gloucesters only purpose built cocktail bar. The addition of an Asian fusion restaurant - totally unique to Gloucester. Bringing something different to the city, with one main goal of creating a warm atmosphere where all are welcome. In 2022 Paul sadly passed away, we owe a lot of thanks to him for all the opportunities he gave us.
The past few years have undoubtedly been very tough for us as a business, with Covid closures, the rising costs of practically everything.. and trade unfortunately dropping at a time of rising costs - it has forced our hand.
However we are choosing to make this a positive celebration of all the fantastic times shared here, all the friendships made, birthdays, weddings, funerals we’ve had them all! 16 years is an amazing feat for a small indie business and we’re proud of what we’ve achieved over those years. A community of vibrancy, a place for live music and all of our incredible djs that have raised the roof every weekend since the beginning!
We want to thank all of our amazing customers and friends for all your support over the years.. we wouldn’t have had such fun without you!! (Or sore heads..)
Over the years we’ve had some amazing, passionate and talented staff members, some who have gone on to work at some incredibly prestigious venues and furthering their careers in the industry. We want to thank everyone of you who have worked hard for us over the years, making all the party’s possible. We would also like to ask that you are courteous and considerate of our current staff members and be thoughtful about what this means for them. They don’t need to be bombarded with questions!
This for us, although difficult, has come at a time when we are ready to move through the changes of life. As we prepare to welcome our little girl, due in November, we know in our hearts that the time for late night parties is on the backbench for at least a little while!
So without further ado, we invite you all to join us for a drink, a dance and one last Hurrah this Saturday. The one and only DJ Soul Method will play us out as he played us in.
Until then we will still be open serving food and drink for walk ins only with the menu being reduced as we start to sell out of items.
Come and drink the bar dry! 😉
