At the Roastery we like to support local where possible and have had a strong relationship with Local Yolks as our egg supplier for a number of years now.

Please see below statement from our trusted supplier.

Here at Local Yolks eggs we know that the recent outbreak of salmonella (suspected to be from IMPORTED eggs) will have caused concern.
We'd just like to provide you with reassurance that if you buy British Eggs, with a UK stamped on the shell, UK registered flocks have salmonella tests every 15 weeks and an annual salmonella audit from the Egg Inspector. As producers we are also subject to spot checks from the egg inspector at any time..
All our chicks/pullets are also vaccinated and tested before they come onto our farm.

All of these these controls help ensure that British eggs are safe, traceable and of the highest quality for you the consumer.

So if ever there was a stark reminder to buy British (preferably Local Yolks of course)... this is it! 🇬🇧
