We have now introduced Coley to our fish menu by popular demand.
Served as a Medium size fish at £6 (7-9oz) or as Large fish at £8.50 (12-16oz) compared to Cod this lovely tasting fish is meaty and tastes extremely as close to cod itself and makes a very cheaper alternative.

Coley is served skinless & boneless.

Scammer Alert

Please note that this individual is operating in gloucester.

He enters premises & puts in a huge order and when asked to pay he says ill pay after the the order is ready, upon finishing the order he then said to the staff that theres an issue with his card and that he would like to pay via transfer, he proceeds to make the payment and shows the transaction but then cancels within the small open window some banks allow.

We are only saying this to alert you all not to get burnt like we did.
More evidence has been submitted to the police as this is classed as fraud.

We have taken delivery of our Hake and as of tomorrow Friday 20th February we will be serving these fillets for only £5.
(£8.20 with cone chips) makes a big difference from the cod price of £8 (£11.20 with cone chips)
We have limited numbers as we need to see how we get on and once again all those that do buy some PLEASE let us have your feedback, Tasters will also be available as long as stocks last.

For the price of 1 cod & chips you can now get two hake and 1 chips for nearly the same price, now thats a bargain guys.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to touch base with you all and mention an issue all Chippies are facing right now.

Cod prices in the UK have risen significantly, with restaurant/takeaway cod and chips often costing over £13–£17.50 per meal, shifting it from a budget to a luxury item.

The wholesale price of cod, which influences retail costs, has averaged around £19.83 per kg, though this varies by source and quality.

Overfishing, climate change, and high inflation in operating costs (energy/logistics) are frequently cited reasons for high these high prices AND its showing no sign of slowing down either.

Since our last cod increase (September 2025) cod has risen significantly as mentioned above BUT we have no plans at this present time to make any increases.

What we are asking/suggesting is that we add an alternative alongside the cod-plaice-haddock Such as hake or po***ck, these fish are significantly cheaper than the other three but not inferior to them , Hake & Chips would sell at £8.50 ish rather that the £13 current price.

Is this something you all would consider ??
Please let me know as we too are sick of paying stupid prices for Cod.
