Morning!

Like many businesses, we’re feeling the effects of the hot weather. Whilst the main hall is air-conditioned, the lounge is not, which means both I and our food stock struggle in the heat. Unfortunately, this has resulted in a significant amount of food waste over the past few weeks, which is a real challenge for a small business.

With another exceptionally hot weekend forecast, there will be drinks only available this weekend. There will be no cakes or sausage rolls, and the café will be closing at 1:00pm.

Thank you, as always, for your understanding and continued support. The forecast looks much cooler for next weekend, so normal service will resume then. 😊

Hi everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know that the café will be closed this weekend.

With it being the first weekend of half term, football season ending and the very hot weather forecast, I am expecting a much quieter weekend than usual. As a small independent business, I have to carefully balance opening costs with expected footfall, and so have decided to take a short break this Bank Holiday weekend.

It will also give me a rare chance to spend a full weekend with my family - something I haven’t had since, I don’t know when… (lucky them 😆)

Just a polite reminder that we are closed today.

PLEASE NOTE
Opening hours over the next few weeks as follows-

Saturday 7th March- CLOSED
Sunday 8th March- Open as usual

Saturday 14th March- 9.00- 12.00
Sunday 15th March- Open as usual

I really hate to close up- but I have plans to spend time with my lovely family (which needs to happen occasionally, I suppose 🙃) and unfortunately, I have no cover.

Had the loveliest day with all of you who popped in. The sun was shining, people were smiling, and there was love and appreciation in the air 🥰 I love days like today.

Our Valentine’s bakes from the brilliant Bake It Eat It were basically irresistible today! One was even brought as a sweet token of appreciation for a football coach (brownie points, you might say 😂) Still plenty for tomorrow… well, while they last 😋

New year, tender energy 🌷

Hey everyone 👋 I hope you’re well today.
I’ve been easing in to the new year gently.
2025 was certainly challenging, and January is always testing too. BUT spring is around the corner (the REAL start of the year!) and so are better days. I feel really positive about this year- optimistic, hopeful & already grateful.
