For those in Dundee there's now a great new app to help find the right services to support vulnerable people in the city.
Dundee Recovery Road Map
Those who work with vulnerable people in Dundee can now make use of a new free app which maps out services across the city.
The Dundee Recovery Road Map provides up-to-date information on services around Dundee which support those dealing with addiction and a range of complex health and welfare issues.
The app builds on the success of a handbook which was launched in 2018 by Parish Nurse Rachel McReady. Rachel identified a need for a guide to services in the city while working at Nethergate’s Steeple Church with vulnerable groups. She found that many people in need of support weren’t aware of the help available to them or how to access it.
The resource has proved so popular that Rachel decided to develop it into an app along with the help of Stefan Ward, a volunteer at The Steeple. Launched over the festive period, the app is now available for both android and apple devices.
Inspector Catherine Lannen, of the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit, has supported the work and believes it can offer a valuable resource to anyone looking to assist those living with addiction.
Insp Lannen said: “The app is a brilliant reference tool for both statutory and third-party partners across Dundee. It is free to download and will give the user all of the information they require to pass along to anyone looking for information on services that engage with vulnerable people. If you don’t already have the app downloaded please consider doing so as it will be a great asset to you as you engage with the public. It will allow you to easily provide accurate and up-to-date contact details for vital services that might be urgently needed.”
The app can be found on the Apple App store, and at Google App Store for Android devices here:
