We are masters of Persian and middle eastern cuisine and are proud runners up in Glasgow Live’s ‘Best Kebab in Glasgow’ awards! Working as a professional chef in both Damascus and Lebanon, Hajar is passionate about fresh, authentic Persian cuisine. He struggled to find the food he loved in Glasgow and so, Hajar’s Shawarma King was born! The story began with a small unit under the railway arches on

King Street in the city centre. Originally a barber shop, it was a real challenge to fit everything we needed into such a small unit. Hajar and his team worked tirelessly to transform the unit into the thriving business it is today. The key thing for us at Shawarma King is fresh food, quality ingredients and lots of flavour! We build our mighty Shawarma kebabs daily in house, make our own hummus, sauces and kebabs and strive to deliver an unforgettable meal experience each and every time. The city centre is now very established, and we present Edinburgh store. Hajar says - ‘’ Now that we are busy in the city centre and have lots of loyal customers we want to bring some fresh, authentic and beautiful food to the lovely people of Edinburgh”
