This is not an easy post for me to write, because Deli De Mamá has never just been a wee shop.
It was opened for my mum, and from the very beginning it carried love, family, graft and heart. Over the years, it has seen some incredibly difficult moments — from losing our Lori, to the fire, to rebuilding and opening the doors again when many people might have walked away.
Because of that, Deli De Mamá will always mean something very special to me.
But as many small businesses will understand, the current financial climate, rising costs, and the pressure on independent food businesses have made things tougher than ever.
So, with a heavy heart, I have made the difficult decision to close Deli De Mamá.
I want to say a heartfelt thank you to every customer who has supported us, ordered from us, visited us, shared a post, recommended us, or simply wished us well. Your support helped us rebuild after one of the hardest times, and I will never forget that.
I also want to thank every member of staff, past and present, who has been part of Deli De Mamá over the years. Whether you were with us for a short time or a long time, you helped make the deli what it was, and I’m grateful for the hard work, laughs, loyalty and memories you brought through the door.
Deli De Mamá has been a beautiful chapter — emotional, challenging, and full of memories — and I’m so grateful to every person who became part of it.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of our story and for helping create memories I will always cherish.
Love,
Sonya ❤️
