🏆 FULL TIME | GARTCOSH UNITED 6–0 LIVINGSTON COMMUNITY 💙💛
A new home. A new chapter. And what a way to start it.
The Cosh came out the traps firing on all cylinders at Eastgate yesterday. From the opening whistle, the boys were at it and produced a fantastic performance to book our place in the next round of the South Region Challenge Cup.
It was a comfortable victory, but there was some fantastic football played along the way. Six goals, a clean sheet and a performance worthy of the occasion.
⚽ Michael Lone x2
⚽ Marc Smith
⚽ Dylan Kerr
⚽ Callum Galloway
⚽ Ross Fisher
But Saturday was about so much more than 90 minutes of football.
It was the first ever game at our new home. Eastgate. 🏡💙💛
To finally see the park and facilities come to fruition was incredibly special. Then to look around and see hundreds of people from the community there to experience it with us… that’s a moment everyone involved with Gartcosh United will cherish for a very long time.
We’ve always believed we can elevate this club to new heights, but to do it successfully, we need the community right behind us.
And by God, did you turn up for us! 👏
Thank you. Genuinely.
The occasion was made even more special by the incredibly talented Harry Fairchild, who piped the team into Eastgate for the very first time. Hearing the pipes as the players walked out onto our new home pitch was a special moment and one that will live long in the memory. Thank you, Harry. 👏
We’d also like to say a huge thank you to Rev Dave Slater for delivering the reading as part of our opening ceremony. It meant a great deal to have you involved in such an important day for both the club and the community.
Days like Saturday simply don’t happen without the businesses who back this club and the volunteers who give up countless hours behind the scenes.
A massive thank you to our sponsors and supporters:
💙 Milncroft Construction
💛 Real Spice Stepps
💙 Class Trade Solutions Ltd
💛 Donnelly & Eadie Developments Ltd
💙 Bell & Higgins Construction & Property Maintenance
💛 Alex Graham, Bakers & Catering
Your backing makes a massive difference and allows us to keep pushing this club forward. We genuinely couldn’t do it without you.
And to every single volunteer who helped get Eastgate ready and then worked tirelessly to make sure everything ran smoothly on Saturday — thank you. There are so many people giving up their own time for this club, often without recognition, and Eastgate is as much yours as anyone’s. 💙💛
We’d also like to thank Livingston Community F.C. for playing their part in such a special day. 🤝
They’ll forever be the first opposition to take to the pitch at Eastgate, and we appreciate them joining us for what was a historic occasion for our club. We wish everyone at Livingston Community all the very best for the rest of their season.
We were also delighted to welcome some of the groundhopping community to our new home. A big thank you to Bruce Walker, Craig Gurney, David Stoker, Stuart Shakle, Roddy Maclean, Craig Murray, Michael John Ross, Mark Perkiss and Graham Barnstaple for hopping along to Eastgate. The early reviews seem pretty positive! 😏👏
It was also fantastic to see Hugh MacDonald from the Daily Mail in attendance to witness a little bit of Gartcosh history.
6–0 victory.
A clean sheet.
Hundreds through the gates.
Our community behind us.
And Eastgate finally home. 🏡
Saturday was about far more than a result. It was about seeing years of ambition, hard work and belief become a reality.
We’ll remember this one for a very long time.
What a start to this new chapter.
Thank you!
MON THE COSH! 💙💛
