Flat Pack Meals is a volunteer led, not-for-profit, food project aiming to provide local communities with affordable and healthy recipe packs to cook at home every week. Each meal and soup pack contains all the ingredients required to cook the recipes along with detailed instructions. By offering these food packs we hope to not only make it easier to have a low-cost and

healthy home cooked meal every week but to also teach, motivate and inspire confidence in our customers to cook for themselves. We believe this will help our customers to continue, and also enjoy, making affordable, healthy choices throughout the week for themselves and their families.

Tomorrow we're having another workshop in Glasgow Kelvin College and we need the communities voices to shape this beautiful project. We need YOUR stories about some of the amazing women in Easterhouse 🙏🏼

All of this work will go towards a performance piece which will be showcased in the fabulous Platform Glasgow 👋🏽

But we need the COMMUNITIES voice to narrate how this will look and what's logged into history, we need the stories of women who have done some incredible things for Easterhouse 👑

💜 EVERY COMMUNITY HAS STORIES THAT DESERVE TO BE REMEMBERED 💜

Who are the women that inspired you? The neighbour who was always there to help. The mum who fought for better. The gran who held the community together. The volunteer, the carer, the campaigner, the friend.

We want to hear their stories.

Mothers of the Scheme is a community heritage project celebrating the incredible women who have shaped Easterhouse and the surrounding communities. Together we'll collect stories, memories and experiences that will become part of a lasting archive of local history.

These first two sessions are sign-up workshops, giving you the chance to find out more, meet others and share your ideas. No writing or creative experience is needed—just come along for a chat.

🌿 What an incredible milestone for East End Flat Pack Meals!

Yesterday, our Project Manager had the exciting opportunity to deliver the "Beyond the Walls" workshop at the International Association for Community Development (IACD) Conference, sharing research with community development practitioners from across the world.

The workshop explored how outdoor, community-led experiences can strengthen wellbeing, build relationships and create lasting community change. Seeing this research spark meaningful conversations on a global stage was a real pinch-me moment and a reminder that the experiences and knowledge within our communities have value far beyond our own neighbourhoods.

One of the most exciting parts of this journey is that the learning doesn't stop here. We are now inviting Community Learning and Development (CLD) practitioners to peer review the Beyond the Walls Learning Framework, helping to shape and strengthen it through collaboration before its wider publication.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the workshop, shared their thoughts and contributed to the discussions. We're excited to see where this journey leads next and how this framework can continue to support community-led practice.

Here's to continuing to learn, share and grow together. 💚

🌸 FINAL CALL – Mothers of the Scheme 🌸

Do you know an incredible woman from Easterhouse whose story deserves to be remembered?

Or would you like to come along and share your own memories of growing up, living or working in Easterhouse?

We're looking for people to join our FREE community workshops, where we'll celebrate the women who have shaped our communities through storytelling, history, poetry, songwriting, art and conversation.

💜 Everyone is welcome!

Although the project focuses on celebrating the women of Easterhouse, men are warmly invited too. Many of the stories of our mothers, grans, aunties, neighbours and community champions are carried by the people who knew and loved them. We'd love to hear your memories.

📍 Glasgow Kelvin College – Easterhouse Campus

🗓 Workshop Dates
• Monday 6th July – 12pm–2pm
• Monday 13th July – 12pm–2pm (this may change to 2.30pm–4.30pm)
• Tuesday 21st July – 12pm–3pm

✨ The workshops are completely FREE, friendly and informal. No creative experience is needed—just bring yourself, your memories and your stories.

We're also making a final call for nominations. If there's a woman from Easterhouse who made a difference, whether to your family, your street or the wider community, we want to hear about her and help preserve her legacy.

Do you have stories, memories or experiences of growing up, living or working in Easterhouse? We'd love to hear them.

Our FREE Mothers of the Scheme workshops are all about celebrating the incredible women who have shaped Easterhouse and the Greater Easterhouse community. Together we'll collect stories, memories, photographs and history that will become part of a community art exhibition and performance later this year.
