We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers who have supported us over the last 5 years, unfortunately we have had to permanently close the cafe.
Despite operating as a cafe since at least 2016/17 and us buying it as a cafe from the previous owner in February 2019 it came to light that the previous owner hadn’t sought/gained the relevant permissions in place to operate as a cafe. Shame on the previous owner - who was fully aware of this fact as he was issued with a notice to cease trading before he put it up for sale in September 2018 and decided to keep this important information to himself.
We have been liaising with GCC over the last 1.5 years to try to resolve and after having spent thousands on relevant upgrades that they requested we have still not been granted permission to operate as a cafe.
We now have no more money left in the money pit to carry out the last major upgrade and have now taken the difficult decision to move onto pastures new before my mental health deteriorates any more.
