Whisky Wednesday!

Kilchoman is Islay's only Single Farm Single Malt Scotch Whisky and we love having it on our gantry.

Machir Bay: Matured in both bourbon and sherry casks. Named after Islay’s most spectacular beach, the high proportion of bourbon barrels create a distinct balance of classic Islay character and fresh floral complexity

Sanaig: Named after an inlet on Islay’s rugged Atlantic coast, Sanaig is a vatting of both sherry and bourbon casks. The high proportion of Oloroso sherry influence adding a balance of dried fruits and spices to classic Kilchoman citrus sweetness and peat smoke character

Whisky Wednesday! Introducing our Arran and Machrie Moor collections! Made from the same Arran distillery, we love having these whiskies on our shelves and they're popular with the summer weather ☀

Arran 10yr: An award-winning whisky, the nose boasts of refreshing citrus fruits, while the palate indulges in a rush of vanilla sweetness with a touch of spicy cinnamon. A background of sweet oak. The finish is a perfect blend of sweetness, apple, citrus, and cinnamon

Arran 18yr: A richly sherried single malt bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or artificial coloring, it offers a beautifully balanced, velvety profile that showcases the distillery's signature fruity character alongside elegant, aged oak

Arran Sherry Cask: Also known as "The Bodega" it is matured entirely in first-fill Sherry hogsheads sourced from Jerez, Spain. It offers an exceptional balance between dark fruit sweetness and the lively, bright character of the Arran spirit

Machrie Moor 10yr: Lightly peated and named after the windswept peat bog on the west coast of Arran, it combines the distillery's classic fruity freshness with a warm, gentle layer of peat smoke

Machrie Moor Cask Strenght: is a robust, peated single malt. Bottled at a powerful and un-diluted 56.2% ABV, it takes the 10yr and adds a solid earthy puff of peat smoke

Staff Pick of the Week!

Meet Charlie! He is one of our newest staff members and his drink of choice at the Machair is a 16yr.

It's a classic that lends itself to important descriptive words like "bold", "powerful", and "composed". It's heavily peated, yet approachable. It's Charlie's drink of choice as he says "peated islay whiskies remind me of home after I had lived on an island. It just tastes like home."

Be sure to say hi to Charlie when you're in drinking your Lagavulin dram!
