📚☕ HELLO FACEBOOK… WE’RE SPICE & STEAM! 🖤
I can’t quite believe I’m finally writing this, but Spice & Steam is officially opening its doors this September!
What started as a little idea (and then became weekend book pop-ups!) is now becoming a real, permanent independent bookstore café in Glasgow — and I’m so excited to finally have a page where I can bring you all along for the journey.
Spice & Steam is a cosy, slightly dark, slightly spicy home for readers. 🖤
Think shelves filled with romance, dark romance, romantasy, fantasy, BookTok favourites and indie authors, alongside good coffee, cakes and pastries — all wrapped up in a warm, welcoming space where you can browse, sit with a book, meet other readers and become part of our little community.
And we officially have an opening weekend… 😭
🖤 FRIDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER — CHAPTER ONE: AFTER DARK
The night before our public opening, just 50 Founding Readers will be invited through the doors for the very first time for an exclusive 18+ opening-night experience.
Expect books, drinks, canapés, masked hosts, exclusive gifts… and perhaps a plot twist before we reach the final page. 👀
🎟️ Tickets are £45 — and 11 have already gone!
📚 SATURDAY 12TH SEPTEMBER — GRAND OPENING
The doors officially open to EVERYONE. Come in, explore the shelves, grab a coffee and finally see what I’ve been working on behind the scenes.
Between now and then I’ll be sharing the transformation of the shop, book deliveries, café updates, opening preparations, events and probably a healthy amount of chaos. 😂
So if books, coffee and morally grey fictional men sound like your kind of thing…
Welcome to Spice & Steam. 🖤
I cannot WAIT to welcome you through the doors.
Love,
Rachael x
