We hold artisan cheese & wine tasting events on a Thursday (see our website)

Wine bar open Friday & Saturday nights - 6pm to 10pm. Starter Culture was founded in September 2019 by Rachna Dheer. A female driven team, our independent shop in the Southside of Glasgow sells a wide range of cheeses, drinks and deli items, such as baked goods, charcuterie and other nibbles and accompaniments from the best local suppliers around. Plus, you can also pick up some of our pretty tasty grilled cheese sandwiches to keep your hunger pangs at bay. Click & collect in-store, or UK-wide delivery available.

✨NEW Luxardo Liquors✨

Two new very special bottles on our shelves, a nut-free amaretto and a maraschino cherry liquor!

Luxardo is a family fun business that has been producing high quality products for 2 centuries. They use rare Marasca cherries that are only grown in specific parts of Italy and Croatia and do a painstaking multi-day candying method that ensures the highest quality and flavour 🍒

Sangue Morlacco - An intense, thick and syrupy liquor with sweetness partially offset by fruit tartness. The juice of the marasca cherries harvested at the start of the year is kept and left to mature until natural fermentation occurs, then it is allowed to age in oak vats. This is perfect for making many types of cocktails and can enjoyed by itself over ice.

Nut free amaretto?? Yes! The almond flavour is given from the essential oils contained in the pits of cherries,peaches and apricots.
Well rounded in taste, a fragrant aroma and hint of vanilla in the end are all the characteristics that distinguish Luxardo Amaretto. This is perfect for making amaretto sours and can also be enjoyed as is over ice.

We think this would be a perfect gift to bring along to a party or as a special gift, especially the amaretto for people with nut allergies!

✨Grilled Cheese of the Month✨

This months grilled cheese uses Raclette, a perfect melting cheese from the Swiss alps. It is rich, slightly nutty with a savoury buttery finish.

have delivered us lots of fabulous cans from their range.

Dookit often partner with other small producers/businesses to create limited edition pours with foraged ingredients and hops from afar.

To The Boathouse - A summery hazy pale ale with foraged shoreline botanicals. Think light spices, lime citrus and barely bitter but super refreshing! 🌊🍻

Sensale Orange is a Sicilian wine that is made from 100% Catarratto grapes using the skin-contact method.

✨Grilled Cheese of The Month✨

The grilled cheese of the month for August is a classic flavour combo with a twist - Goats Cheese + Bramble & Whisky chilli jam 🐐🍓

This month we are using Rachel, a vegetarian goats cheese, we have decided to leave this one meat free too so this one is for the veggies! (And everyone else as it’s delicious)

Rachel is a washed rind, mid strength goats cheese from Somerset. It has a delicate yet more-ish flavour, slightly sweet and creamy. Then we added a thick layer of Bramble + Whisky chilli jam, giving it a fruity, boozey kick with a hint of heat!
