We’ve got a wee bit of news from last night.

Well, three bits. 🏆🏆🏆

While Jaynie headed to the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards, Katie and Lude headed to the West of Scotland Scottish Thistle Awards.

We had a fairly good night.

Jaynie won Young Talent of the Year at the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards. ❤️

Then Katie and Lude came home with:

🏆 Best Visitor Attraction
🏆 Best Community Tourism & Events Initiative

Honestly, we’re a little bit blown away.

Particularly when you look at the people and places we were up against.

Equi’s Ice Cream.
Growers Garden.
The Tall Ship Glenlee.
Tennent’s Visitor Centre.
Alloway Railway Tunnel.
Cycle Station.

Brilliant Scottish businesses, attractions and people doing brilliant work.

For our family and our team here in Jackton to be recognised alongside them means an enormous amount.

The community award feels especially personal.

Over the past few years you’ve turned up for our markets, Hoedowns, tastings, festivals, music nights, local weekends and more. You’ve brought your families, your pals and, quite often, your dogs.

You’ve helped make Jackton what it is.

A huge thank you to Scotland Food & Drink, VisitScotland and the Scottish Thistle Awards.

And thank you to our entire team and everyone who has walked through our doors.

Three trophies in one night.

Not bad for a Thursday.

A little heads-up from Jackton.

We’re closed to the public today, Thursday 24 September, while we host a private wedding here at the distillery.

We’ll be raising a glass to the happy couple as they celebrate with family and friends, and we’re delighted Jackton gets to play a small part in such a special day.

We’ll be back open tomorrow, Friday 25 September, from 11:30am for tours, tastings, drinks and a visit to the shop.

Planning your own wedding or private celebration?

Jackton is available for weddings and private events, offering a relaxed Scottish setting just outside Glasgow. If you’d like to come and see the space for yourself, our team would love to welcome you for a look around.

Our doors are open! 👋

Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival starts today, and from now until Sunday we’re giving visitors a RAER chance to see a part of Jackton that’s normally off-limits.

Come behind the scenes on one of our FREE Maltings Tours. See our production courtyard, learn more about how we malt our barley and get a close-up look at our drum maltings.

You can also visit “Snapshots of Jackton”, our new exhibition looking back at the people, buildings and family story behind Jackton Distillery.

Tours run from Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 September.

Tickets are free, but booking is essential.

Trying our Single Malt for the first time ? Here is two suggestions on how to try it! 48.7% could be very strong for you, or not strong enough. If it’s too strong, try drinking it with a little water, or let it air out for a few so that you are getting more of the flavour, and less of the taste and nose of alcohol.

Have you had a chance to try it yet ?

RAER Single Malt Scotch Wh**ky
•The Inaugural Release •
Today is the day!

Every bottle is embossed with the RAER Mountain Line wrapping round the bottle with a copper coin of the RAER Couple, which represents the RAER View. The RAER View was the concept that started it all. A photo series of a man and a woman looking out at a beautiful, RARE, landscape, wearing kilts, when a gust of wind would gently lift up their kilts revealing both of their (for lack of a better word), bare arses (their REARS). And that is where RAER came from. As it was a RAER view of their REAR view. Raer spelt backwards is Rear.

Also embossed on each bottle is 6 strands of barley. All different from one another. That is because each family member was asked to draw their own unique, RAER, piece of barley, to represent the independence of our distillery, and to appreciate that we are one of the few Scottish owned and ran distillery’s in Scotland.

And lastly, a small hole cut out in the centre of the label, showing its own RAER View, and a glimpse of what is to come next for Jackton Distillery.

All of this was included on our signature swoosh bottle, the same one from our core range. This bottle has always represented what we are to achieve. Which is a full ecological cycle. From growing our own barley, malting, distilling, bonding, bottling, the spent grain going back to the farm to feed the animals for fertiliser, and for the process to repeat itself all over again.

This bottle was designed from the heart. To make something that represented us for the family that we are. Which we are so proud to share with you.

Orders for pickup are sitting here waiting for you, bottles are still available online and in store! We can’t wait to hear what you have to say!

How it started vs how it’s going…

It’s go, go, go for Greg with The Inaugural Release right now.
Sometimes the only sensible option is to lie on the floor and let off some steam…
