🚨Let’s Go Back’s Accidental Weekender #3: Guest Takeover🚨

The weekend is nearly over, and that van only mean one thing…actually no, not this time, as the Lets Go Back crew are having a wee day off this week. No particular reason, nobody’s deid, in the jail or no’ being allowed oot by a long-suffering Mrs* of anything. They’re just stepping aside to let some other excellent DJs come in and help you rip the arse oot the weekend instead.

So this week, we’re proud to present the first-ever Let’s Go Back’s Sunday Soundclash Rave Guest Takeover!

For over three decades Stephen Brown has been one of Scotland’s most respected names in techno. Inspired by the sound of Detroit and shaped by Edinburgh’s underground scene, Stephen has taken his music from local clubs to dancefloors across Europe, releasing on some of the most influential labels in electronic music while always staying true to his roots. He’s shared stages with the pioneers, earned the respect of legends like Derrick May, and remains one of the UK’s most authentic techno artists.

Matt Crainie is a 19 year-old house DJ and producer who has been playing gigs in and around Glasgow for around a year, in places like the Malborough, Vodka Wodka and many more. As a DJ, his sets are based around the deep, minimal, underground-style house.

Jack Brown is the son of one of the U.K.’s top house and techno producers. His dad has recorded for some of the world’s leading labels, and to say that being brought up in a house full of music has influenced him is an understatement. Jack has played at Stepback, Terminal V and Rush, and he also runs the Eternal party, as well as his mo’ disco and house heavy night called Parley.

It’s a lovely day out there, so get yrself down here and hide from it with us in the Rave Cave. Who needs the sun when you’ve got lasers?

✊🏻🏴‍☠️💚

*we can’t really guarantee any of this tbh, each one is a constant possibility 🤷🏻‍♂️🥴

Let’s Go Back’s Sunday Soundclash Rave Guest Takeover is happening tonight in McChuill’s from 7pm to Midnight. Entry is free.

And did we mention it’s free? Because it is. C’mon doon and watch a band for hee haw on a Saturday night. You know it makes sense.

🚨Let’s Go Back’s Accidental Weekender #2: Bosco🚨

So tonight in the bar, we’re continuing to pretend we planned the first-ever Lets Go Back’s Accidental Weekender all along…

This time it’s the big man himself, the boldest of the bold, thee one and only Bosco who will be rocking the McChuill’s decks all night long.

So as well as an exquisite taste in clobber, he’ll be bringing as varied a dejection of party smashers as you’ll get, from classic indie, ‘80s pop anthems, punk both regular and post, disco, as well as plenty of old-school hip hop and rave all the way up to the very latest cutting-edge bangers and a whole lot more. And yes, there will be acid. Lots and lots of acid. Because the man just loves da acid. 🥴

Come on doon. It’s Bosco. It’s McChuills. It’s Saturday night. It’s Let’s Go Back’s Accidental Weekender! And it’s gonna be going aff like a banger. As always.

✊🏻🏴‍☠️💚

Bosco plays McChuills tonight, Saturday July 11th from 8pm to close. Entry is free!

It’s not all World Cup on the telly this weekend as there’s some tasty GAA action happening as well as we’re down to the final four in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship.

Today, sees a sold-out Croke Park hosting Mayo GAA vs Louth GAA who are making their first semi-final since 1957, with the throw-in at 6pm, while tomorrow champions Kerry GAA face a Dublin GAA side that has built steadily throughout the championship. That one’s an earlier start at 4pm.

So if that’s yr game, you know where to come and watch them now, eh?

Catch ye later on…

✊🏻🏴‍☠️💚

Both All-Ireland SFC Semi-Finals will be on the telly in McChuill’s today and tomorrow. Entry is, as always, free.

⚽️WORLD CUP 2026 @ McCHUILL’S ⚽️

The World Cup is still trundling on so we’re still showing all the games that are on while we’re open. There’s two happening over the weekend with Selección Española de Fútbol (SeFutbol) (Spain) v Belgian Red Devils (Belgium) at 8pm the night and Fotballandslaget (Norway) v England football team at 10pm tomorrow.

Sadly these ones coincide with us having DJs in the bar (specifically Basil and Bosco from the Lets Go Back crew), so we know you’ll all be disappointed you can’t hear all the fascinating insights and not remotely annoying, jingoistic patter that definitely doesn’t pretty much fuel everyone wanting anyone but them to win. Gosh no. So sorry about that. We’re just as gutted as you, honestly.

Kom igjen Norge, gå på dem!
✊🏻🏴‍☠️💚

Spain v Belgium and Norway v England are both (silently) on the telly in McChuills via BBC or ITV tonight and tomorrow. Entry is free!

🚨🚨 Let’s Go Back’s Accidental Weekender #1: Basil🚨🚨

So we’ve realised that purely by accident, we’ve got some combo of the Let’s Go back crew DJing in the bar over the next three nights! WTF?

So, in true McChuill’s style, we’re turning or lack of paying attention into something positive: the first-ever Lets Go Back’s Accidental Weekender!

First up tomorrow night, we’re kicking it all off with one of the family on the McChuills decks, none other than the bold Basil himself.

The Lets Go Back resident and all-round living legend will be giving us a full four-hour solo set, taking in everything and anything from house, techno and rave, to classic 80s pop and electro, indie rock, baggy, hip hop and whatever else he feels like at the time. If it gets folk dancing, it’s in with a shout.

It’s been far too long since we had the young fella on the decks on a weekend night, so he’s gonna be pulling out all the stops and he’ll have the place bouncing from the off.

Get yrself down and get yr groove on with us. You know it makes sense.

Let’s Go Back’s Accidental Weekender #1 w/Basil is happening in McChuills tomorrow, Friday July 10th from 8pm-midnight. Entry is free!

🚨🍀 SHORT NOTICE FITBA ALERT! 🍀🚨

So Celtic FC are back in action this evening, over in Ireland for a friendly against Shelbourne Football Club. Which is a lot better than having to play the first of many UEFA Champions League qualifiers while the FIFA World Cup is still on and you’ve got Nir Biton at CB. Brrrr…🤦🏻‍♂️

Aaaanyway, it’s on Premier Sports so we’re showing it on the telly. Come down watch it with us and we can see how all their new signings are shaping up. It’s the beginning of an exciting new era! 😍🥴

✊🏻🏴‍☠️💚

Shelbourne v Celtic is on the telly in McChuills tonight, Tuesday July 7th from 6pm. Entry is free!

The weekend is nearly over, but is it ever really over if you don’t want it to be? We don’t think so and neither do those evangelical Monday-deniers in the Lets Go Back crew, who are incoming to help us all rip the arse out another one with their infamous Sunday Soundclash Rave.

This week, it’s a residents special, so the lads will be digging deeper into their collections, going b2b and generally cranking out a soundtrack of anything and everything, from old-school hip hop, rave and house, through dub, breaks and more, right up to the very latest in cutting-edge floorfillers, as well as anything else, from any genre, that takes their fancy. All in a pub full of club-level lighting, strobes, smoke and a hefty dose of atmosphere. Oh and lasers. Yes, frickin’ LASERS. In a pub. On a Sunday. Because we are McChuills.

So get yrself down and come have a dance in the rave cave with us. What are Sundays for if not making Future You hate you?
