Hello friends!
This isnt an April fools, or a closing down post like a lot of you panic everytime we post a picture we both feature in. This is something far warmer and more exciting for Frankie and you all dear friends.

Frankie Coffee has been nominated to feature in the UK Best Coffee Shops 2026 listing.

Yep, how crazy is that?

Truth be told, we don’t really know where to begin with this kind of post. This list contains some truly exceptional venues ran by some wonderful individuals who for us, excel at the craft. So first of all, to be lined up alongside some of these coffee shops Is incredibly motivating and fulfilling.

For us, that alone feels like a win. To be put forward for such a feature makes us incredibly proud of not only our little shop & roastery but also all of you, for cultivating the community we have in our shop every single day. Coffee shops are a sum of parts, where coffee may not even be the most important factor. It’s the atmosphere, the chatter, the interactions between you all, the friendships that have bloomed and the faces we see returning each and every day with more stories to share with us in our space.

We are undeniably grateful for the Frankie we have all created, so if anything, see this post as a thank you for getting us to where we are today, on the cusp of being recognised at a national level. Which to both of us seems quite truly, unfathomable. So, let’s get Frankie and our community, YOU, on the final list!

The ball is rolling. We finally introduced Carousel Knights so why stop there?

We have been flat out, non stop in the power plant down at the Glue factory roasting away for you all and wait till you see what we have lines up. Boy oh boy, some absolute beauties.

This month:
• Plastic Plants - Kenya - Fully washed
Smells like fresh tomatoes, with the punchiness of red wine 🍇🍅🪴
• Treasure Trove - Brazil - Pulped Natural
Sips like a black tea with a crispy peachy sweetness 🍑☕️🏴‍☠️

Between now & August~ish
• Thousand Hills - Rwanda - Washed
Its fruity, its boozy, its deeply rich, leaving you reaching for another slurp🍒🍋‍🟩🍹
• Wild Geese - Bolivia - Fully Washed
Sweet, yet subtle berries that amass to form a lingeringly complex sip 🫐🍓🪽
• Savour - El Salvador - Fully Washed
It’s sweet & silky toffees, laced with warm, toasty wholenut edge.
• Kaldi - Ethiopia - Natural
Initial bursts of lychee, that carry on through with an accompaniment of vibrant fruits & a crisp mouthful 💥🍍🍋

Aint that a whole bunch to look forward too?

And rest assured we are still seeking out more glorious coffees for the second half of this year. If there are any tastes, origins or processes you would like us to try and find, let us know! Aden is forever on the hunt for a Burundi & Jack is incessant about Chinese coffees!

Allow me to reintroduce myself?

A few months ago we rolled out the new house roast, Carousel Knights, which it’s fair to say has been an instant hit with you all loving it immensely. But how rude of us, we haven’t even introduced C. Knight to you all, so please muse the short words below and get aquatinted!

Carousel Knights is a single origin, fully washed & sun dried Bourbon & Catuai variatals, for those who wish to know the in-depths fancy stats.

For us, & most importantly for you all. Carousel Knights is a beautifully balanced toffee penny, apple crumble & silky chocolate roast thats both stunning on espresso & more-ishly drinkable on filter.

The bean itself is grown in Guatemala where owner Victor Calderon utilises old 1990s clay mine deposits in a water/clay solution that helps fight off any level of coffee leaf rust (degradation of the plant) in a way that is incredibly ecologically friendly and poses no threat to the workers health.

An ingenious usage of previously unviable land whilst keeping the whole farming operation sustainable and environmentally friendly. Big win-win-win all round for Victor, Frankie and each of you drinking Carousel Knights.

Lastly, on a personal level we take alot of pride in this roast as for both of us it felt like we had truly nailed our selection, roasting and silly fun branding for what will be our staple house for months to come. Plus, we had so much help from so many of you taking home our test roasts, brewing it up and feeding back the goods, the bad & the really bads. You know who you are, pat on the back to you all. Frankie, in all aspects continuing to be built by the community it serves.

Oh and of course, the name! How could we forget. Such an ingenious long winded story.

Gooood Morning!

Friends, we shall be closed for five days as of tomorrow (Monday 23rd until Friday 27th) not because we have run out of beans AGAIN, worry not! But because we have finally decided to take our ‘Christmas holidays’.

We have not really stopped to take a break since October because of you wonderful lot keeping us ever so busy and even more so motivated. So as we usually do, we are going to take a little five day hiatus to recharge.

That means you have to run, fly, glide, walk, hover, drive, zig zag or roll your way to Frankie today for any bean restocks or to savour the taste of an oat flat white until next Saturday.

Morning friends! We shall be CLOSED today.

In the silliest but most gratifying way to show how incredible the start of this year has been we have ran out of coffee beans.

We roast to our forecast so that never waste beans but always have enough to keep the coffee flowing through the machine and into the tins you take home. We are always three weeks ahead to allow for adequate resting & optimum taste. You, our dearest friends, have sold us out of about six weeks worth of roasting, in that three week period. You have blown the forecast to smithereens.

Yep. We are proud of you all to! Crazy amounts of coffee consumption going down and we LOVE it.

That does however mean we are a tiny bit behind & in need of upping our output, working some more roastery hours and getting those beans back on the shelf!

A truly fantastic thing to happen, just not for those of you who fancied a Monday brew.
