Thinking about Ozzy passing and the unimaginable time Sharon will be going through. I’ve decided to share a little personal moment of mine from last year. When I met an idol of mine, Sharon Osbourne.
I remember writing this note in my phone at the time but never posted it. Probably because it was quite personal. But. Everything laid bare. X
…
I have been a fan of Sharon’s since 2002. Twenty-two years ago, when my son and I first began watching ‘The Osbourne's’ together. We both became fast fans of the show. Of Ozzy. Of Sharon. My son and I used to watch the show and my son would always say he had his very own Sharon Osbourne, in me. Even buying me my very own Sharon Osbourne doll, which I still have today, twenty two years later. Sharon and I seemed so similar. Formidable, feisty, fierce, fearless… and partial to the use of the "F word"! We even had similar hairstyles, l was short and red at the time too. My son and I would watch the Osbourne’s together and laugh.
Although, like Sharon. The laughter stopped when I was diagnosed with cancer. I faced my very own stark and frightening realisation, around the same time Sharon faced hers.
I would watch Sharon on television fight her own battle, whilst I fought mine. I would watch Sharon, as a fan, this famous figure bravely and unashamedly putting her truth out there for every woman in the world to see. I would read her books. Her own personal trials and tribulations, along with her triumphs. I could completely relate. As a wife at the time, an independent business woman, and most importantly of all, a mother. Scared too. Whilst trying to hold everything together with such doubt and dread hanging over me.
But I would see and hear Sharons strength on every episode watched. On every page turned. And be inspired.
Sharon very bravely came out the other end of her own personal devastation. As did I. Thank God 🙏🏻 But sadly, we must bear in mind, so many women unfortunately do not. Not all woman are as fortunate. Even now, I’m thinking about the women, still bravely fighting and most importantly, living. Other unbelievably brave women still going strong 💪🏻 All of whom have my utmost admiration and support. All women fighting, winning and losing this horrible battle, do.
When I was lucky enough to meet Sharon I didn’t have a question for her. I just wanted to say thank you ❤️
I thanked her for sharing her own story, through the years, then and now. Because she has been an inspiration not only to myself, but to so many women. She has helped so many to have courage and be brave. Women who were no doubt also in the audience at the Fortune Theatre in London, because of her. Some perhaps for the very same reasons.
So thank you Sharon. For being you. For being brave. For being honest. For "cutting the crap" . For being a fu***ng fighter 💪🏻 And for never giving up. A true inspiration.
It was a pleasure, an honour meeting and speaking with you. You truly are a ⭐️ in my eyes and in the eyes of so many women 🙏🏻 Another female boss!
72 years old and still hustling. What an inspiration! I’m 64 and doing same. A pair of grafters. Fighters 💪🏻 Made of tough stuff. They just don’t make them like us anymore! ❄️
You stay strong hen.
