BIG BIG NEWS......
We are SOLD......Our tenure at The Dolphin has ended after over seven years and five Prime Ministers! We are handing over to Mike, Ann and Martin. They will no doubt update you with their plans over the next few days.
So it is goodbye, although not completely. We are living locally and will be keeping in touch with those of you that have become friends, no longer will we be restricted to meeting up on a Monday or Tuesday evening!
As for the last seven plus years, they have included many moments of fun, joy and happiness. Of course there have been sad times. We have attended far too many funerals, laid on far too many wakes. Seen people battle with illness, family loss and personal sadness. We have listened when you have wanted to chat and offered advice when you have asked. People have no idea how much of some peoples lives you are as a pub landlord and this has been an honour.
The job of a pub owner is one that attracts many opinions, everyone wants to tell you how they would run a pub or offer advice based on the time when they once served behind the bar. People want to tell you when to open, what hours you should be working. That aside it is one of the most rewarding and enjoyable jobs that you can do.
Thank you for your custom over the last seven years, it's been a pleasure to be part of your lives. We wish Mike, Ann and Martin all the very best.
