So…

Tomorrow at 6.30pm, representatives from North East Region of CAMRA. will be at the pub to present us with their Regional Pub Of The Year award & to also celebrate us moving into the last 16 pubs in their UK Pub Of The Year competition. 🙌🏻

To mark the occasion, we will be pouring this mega limited (1 of only 5) cask version of Wylam Brewery Ltd Souls Of Mischief, a 7.5% West Coast IPA brewed in collaboration with Sacramento’s Urban Roots® Brewing 🍻

Also happening tomorrow (& straight after the presentation) is this month’s instalment of Ye Olde Cross Community Cinema who are screening Brian Cox’s Glenrothan. 🎬🥃🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

It’s also the last Bank Holiday weekend until Christmas! 😲
The mighty Flankman will be bookending it, providing superb tacos & more on Friday & Monday (remember, we’re open 12pm-8pm every Bank Holiday Monday)…

Saturday sees damascus_rose1 bring a taste of Persia & Brasa are bringing the Brazilian vibes on Sunday!

Friday! 🙌🏻

The first stage of resurfacing the front beer garden is complete (The tarmac is only temporary! Don’t worry!) & it’s all ready for the bonded resin to be laid, which will be happening next Monday or the week after…
Then we’ll be putting some nice new (heavier duty) furniture out there too… 😀

This evening’s The NE Street Band show is SOLD OUT! 🤘

Hello!

After initially being scheduled to be done before summer (with a different contractor) work has finally commenced this week on resurfacing the front beer garden!

Which as well as making it look a whole lot nicer, will also massively improve accessibility to the pub…

We’re open as usual, though seating at the front will be out of use, certainly for today & possibly for most of tomorrow…

The work is being done in two stages to minimise impact on the running of the pub, so after tomorrow there will be a temporary tarmac surface out there so it can be used as normal…

Then in a week or two the final bonded resin surface will be applied… (This needs to happen on a Monday when we’re closed & is also massively weather dependant.)

All being well, it should be all finished in time for the Bank Holiday weekend! 🤞🏻

As I’m sure our regulars will agree, she’ll be a big miss behind the bar & is sure to do well in her new career! 👊

She’s on until 7pm & is also sticking around for a drink or two afterwards so feel free to pop in & wish her well! 🍻
