JJ’s Kitchen is now permanently closed.
There are many, many factors that have contributed to making this very difficult decision. The main one being that costs have sky rocketed over the last few years which means to make the business viable I have to work there full time which has been taking a huge toll on me as I have also been trying to run my newly opened restaurant as well. It was about time something had to give so I made the decision to close JJ’s Kitchen for good last Friday.
Now feels like to right time to move on and concentrate all my time and efforts on The Bonny Comet. I’m hoping this regain a bit of work/life balance which is what I’ve spent the last week doing (and its been lovely) and also thrown all my passion and enthusiasm into growing the restaurant.
I want to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to every single customer who has came through the doors, whether you’re a new customer or one of those that has been with us from the very beginning. I will never forgot your loyal custom, it had kept us going through some very challenging times as well as some great times over the last 12 years! We’re extremely fortunate to have had dozens of regular customers who became friends over the years and the staff and I will be forever grateful for that.
To the staff, I don’t know where to start. I’ve had best friends, siblings and strangers as part of the JJ’s team over the years and what a ride its been. You lot are the reason JJ’s was a success for 12 years. You always gave your all as colleagues but even more so as friends. I’ve gained friends for life and I can never thank you all enough for being the craziest, most supportive and kindest bunch of souls that I’ve had the honour of working alongside.
So this may be the end of the JJ’s road but it has put me in good stead for the new journey ahead. Thank you for everything.
Love Hayley and The JJ’s team
