The Fish & Chip Plaice was established in Dec 2000 and was obtained as a family run restaurant and takeaway and was managed and run by Ken Blondel and Nicola Clark ( Father & Daughter) and other family members. Since her fathers retirement Nicola has taken over the shop and runs and manages this with her staff team. The Fish & Chip Plaice prides itself not only for the traditional delicious tasty
food but also the high quality provided to our valued customers. There is an extensive menu which can be viewed on this page and the facility to pre-order by phone if your in a rush. We also cater for parties and functions and prices can be given on request,
Nicola has four small children which at present does not enable her to open full time but this is currently being looked at for later on in the year along with a local delivery service. The best quality potatoes are sought with seasonal variations and prepared daily on the premises, we use the finest quality frying products high in polyunsaturates (good fats)low in saturates (bad fats). Fish is delivered daily which is Cod or Haddock and this is cooked to order to maintain the quality of the product we buy. There is a cafe area available should you require to eat in rather than takeaway and table service is provided. Nicola has obtained the highest standard for hygiene within the shop and also took part in a competition which she was successful in obtaining top three shop for quality of food and is looking to enter again this year and hopefully receive the top award.
