About Us

Our founder, Kent, has been working with wine for the last 30 years, supplying the great and the good with the best he could get his hands on, before a weekend to Frome changed everything. Here was a picturesque market town proudly full of independent businesses and there was a glorious Edwardian building in a beautiful spot available for sale. He knew what he had to do... Gather up all his resources, find a small team of dedicated, passionate people and open an independent wine bar, restaurant and wine shop. Born from a desire to share his passions, Eight Stony Street is all about creating a place that is so friendly & welcoming it feels like home, but that also provides such delicious, well sourced food & wine that it feels special.

The space itself is split across two floors with a coffee area, wine bar, wine shop and restaurant including an all day dining room.

In our wine shop you'll find over 350 wines from around the world, tailored to suit different sorts of occasions and tastes. All wines are available to take home or enjoy in the bar, where you can find ten premium wines on tap. Providing quality wine on tap is part of our commitment to a more sustainable future. As much as possible, we source produce locally and we never use single use plastic straws. We love organic, biodynamic, natural & vegan wines, but most of all we love delicious wines!

Due to Covid-19 we have extremely strict hygiene and distancing practices in place. You can see our full charter via the website. One of the upsides of having to close during lockdown is we introduced delivery for pizza and wine - the hours for delivery are slightly different to in house so please check them out via the website!
