This is how I puff up my roses when I decorate my wedding cakes!!! 🌹 can’t wait to show you the stunning finished cake I finished at the venue today!!!!

Definitely one for the spooky cake lovers! 🎂💀

Hand-painted moon backdrop with twisted, bare trees and flying bats, a creepy graveyard scene, “RIP” tombstone with arms coming out and clutching a heart!!!

This cake was created a few years ago now… “Here lies your 30’s!”. I came across it looking for something else in my camera roll, so I thought I’d reshare it now!

Rich, fudgy chocolate sponge with gorgeous layers of pink buttercream, all wrapped up in the most colourful, fun and very Essex Cake Shop design! 💕🩵💛

And can we appreciate that giant sprinkle-filled centre?! 🌈✨

I absolutely LOVE seeing one of my cakes cut into — it’s the moment you finally get to see all those layers of cake and filling I’ve been working so hard on! 🥹❤️

Created for a birthday a couple of years ago. I had free rein on the design and this was the finished cake!

A seriously wild creation from the EssexCakeShop kitchen!

This one was all about the details — hand-sculpted monster features, layers of texture, scales, spikes and those incredible edible turquoise flames rising from the top! 🌊🔥

I absolutely LOVE creating cakes that push the boundaries of what a cake can look like… because who says cake has to look like cake?! 😂🎂

♥️FINISH DECORATING THIS WEDDING CAKE WITH ME!

From a plain white cake to a finished showstopper! 🤍🌹🎀

This one was all about the details… elegant white-on-white bows, delicate piping, fresh strawberries and those gorgeous deep red roses ❤️

Because sometimes it’s the little details that make the biggest difference! ✨ Fresh velvet red roses and Fresh Strawberries added the morning of the wedding!

I used the to cover and make bows! Then the to whiten my pipped buttercream and glitter!!!!!!!

Couldn’t make my mind up where to place that last strawberry! 😂🙈🍓

My first ever mixer arrived for Christmas 2015… 🎄🎂
Adam brought me a mixer rather than me making cupcakes in a bowl and wooden spoon anymore!

Teddi-May loved the box more!!!!!!!!!

Little did my husband know that just one year later, in December 2016, ESSEXCAKESHOP officially became a reality! 🥹❤️

What started with a mixer, a love of baking and a little bit of an idea has somehow grown into 10 YEARS of Essex Cake Shop this year! 🤯 and a bigger mixer along the way!

TEN YEARS!!! Wow. Just wow. 🥹🎂✨

So many cakes, celebrations, late nights, early mornings, amazing customers, incredible memories and SO much learning along the way.

I honestly can’t believe how far this little business has come. My husband who helps me with my wild ideas or runs to shop at stupid o’clock if I’ve run out of butter!!!! My brother actually chose the name and designed my logo too!!!! 💖 My sister has helped me out for events being the best side kick!!!!! My mum helping with child care and has helped at some events too!!! I’m very grateful for my supportive family. 🫶🏼 I have even dragged my father in law to a wedding set up to help me when Tabbi was a toddler… I know he secretly loved it following her around the beautiful grounds whilst I set up the cake haha!

Here’s to 10 years of ESSEXCAKESHOP this December! 🥂🎂✨

🔥✨ A little throwback to one of my favourite cakes I’ve ever created…

A 3D carved Phoenix cake I made a couple of years ago for my daughter’s birthday. ❤️‍🔥

This one was definitely a labour of love! A completely gravity-defying cake, with the Phoenix soaring above the branch, wings spread wide and every feather individually carved and detailed to bring it to life.

From the fiery reds, oranges and golds of the feathers, to the little book tucked into the woodland-style base — every part was handmade and built from cake.

One of those cakes where you look at it afterwards and think… “How on earth did I actually make that?!” 😂
But also now looking at it a few years on and seeing how I could actually improve on it too!!!! If that’s even possible!

Genuinely I want to get the tree down this weekend!!! And I have been know for putting the tree up Christmas Eve in the past… I have definitely got the Christmas spirit early this year!!!!!!! Anyone else?!? No just me?!?!

🌸🍓🧁Individually boxed matching cupcakes for the birthday girl to gift to all her friends!!!!

🧁Vanilla, chocolate and red velvet! All topped with a pink vanilla buttercream, fondant strawberries, daisies and sugar pearls.

🎀So cute!
