Mrs Maitlands Restaurant closed today due to blocked rural roads, high winds and many colleagues unable to get into work.

Today was a special day for Maitland's as the town and Mrs Maitland's Restaurant played host to the unexpected arrival of MV Silver Wind (IMO: 8903935) and her approximately 250 passengers. Poor weather had prevented her from reaching her originally scheduled destination today but I think we can all agree that the weather managed to hold on just long enough to give everyone a taste of how nice the Broch can be. Mrs Maitland's were honoured to receive a ship to shore call from Silver Wind's Captain this morning asking if we could accommodate his 250 guests on short notice. Mrs Maitland's staff smashed it out of the park today and we hope that all of our guests, however fleeting, left satisfied and impressed with Mrs Maitland's and the Broch as well.

Aberdeenshire Public Health Team are delighted to help support ‘The Chatty Café Scheme’ which is a national initiative to reduce loneliness by getting people chatting.
We are bringing a Chatter & Natter table to Mrs Maitland’s restaurant – times and dates will be available very soon.
We are looking for volunteers to help set this up and host the sessions.
Are you enthusiastic to make connections in your community?
Have a kind, friendly and empathetic approach? Excellent organisation skills?
Commit to 2 hours a week to host a table? Complete a short training session and help plan and promote the café?
