Today is our 5th birthday 🎂 🎉
Where does time go? Yet despite all of the increases in cost of living over that time, we are still only £5 a night PER Motorhome/Campervan.
We opened our aire having travelled extensively around Scotland in our own campervan, falling in love with this North Eastern region, which we travelled with particular interest trailing Greg’s family history.
On buying our cottage by the sea we wondered how to make good use of the large hardstanding area at the front, with its views out across the beginnings of the Moray Firth.
Wanting to help promote the wonderful local businesses and attractions to see in the area, Glenbuchty Stopover was born as an affordable, safe, open all year overnight stop for touring motorhomes & campervans, thanks to help from CAMpRA (assisted by MotorhomeFun back in those days) by making us their first certified aire.
Since then we hope the town of Fraserburgh and the local area have benefited from the thousands of visitors who have stopped here rather than drive through, bringing some of their spending money into the local economy.
Our guests tell us how much they enjoy the fresh produce at restaurants and cafes, discovering family run businesses rather than huge chains, and learning about the heritage of this area with its blue seas, contrasting sandy dunes and ancient granite rock shoreline.
