For us at The Old Quay House Hotel, Regatta is so much more than a busy week in Fowey. It’s the energy that fills the harbour, the return of familiar guests year after year, sails and boats crowding the river, and the whole town truly coming alive.

It’s lazy lunches by the water, great food, a glass (or two), endless stories, and that special Fowey feeling you can’t quite put into words.

Meet Steven, our most persistent terrace visitor.
Official job title? Professional Food Inspector (self-appointed).
You’ll usually spot him keeping a close eye on our guests, patiently waiting for the perfect opportunity to “sample” your lunch.
Favourite dish? Whatever you’ve just ordered.
Favourite drink? He’ll stick to the sea breeze... but he’s partial to hanging around anyone with a cocktail.
What he enjoys most about the job? The stunning harbour views, free entertainment, and the occasional unattended chip.
Don’t worry, our team works hard to keep Steven at bay... but we can’t promise he won’t try his luck!
